It Was Always You

Finding the perfect outfit is important! (8)

I wake in Shane's arms still in the temple. I look down at Shane's watch. 6:30 am. I need to be at training with Ari at 8 so I know we have to leave now.

"Shane?" I nudge him. He sighs his eyes still staying closed, and he pulls me closer. "We have to get up." I whisper not actually wanting to wake him. I look and see his long lashes making him look younger and innocent. He looks around my age while sleeping.

"Like what you see?"

"Yes," I reply before my brain computes what my mouth spits out.

"Good." He squishes me into his chest.

"Shane! I need to shower before my lesson with Ari."

"Why?"

"I can't smell like you. Everyone would know." He frowns. "Plus it will be a distraction."

"I don't like it when she trains you."

"Because she doesn't go easy on me?"

"She's mean to you." I roll my eyes.

"She does it for my own good. She's a good friend."

"Yea. She the perfect hot best friend." He states. Mariah growls out loud. She tries to take over but I just barely hold her back.

"Chapin?" Shane looks at me. That's when Mariah takes control.

"Nope." She smirks.

"You must be her wolf then."

"Mariah." She nods at him. I try to take control but she won't let me.

"Can I see my mate?" She asks him.

"In time." Shane tells her. "Chapin needs to get showered and dressed, could you let her take control?"

"Fine." I take back control. "Thank you." I start walking back. Shane follows. I go and shower not seeing Shane again until I'm in the yard ready to train.

"Alright, let's begin."

The rest of the week went by the same. Mornings I would train with Ari, afternoons hang out with my friends and most of my evenings were spent with Shane us two just trying to get to know each other. Tomorrow night is the ball. After my training lessons with Ari were done my father and mother invited them to the ball.

"Chapin, girls do you have dresses?" My mother asks Ari, Ava, Hunter, Beth and I.

"Um no." I state.

"Finding the perfect outfit is important!" Mom states.

"Shopping!" Ariel smiles. I laugh. We all hop into a van. Mom tells us it'll be on the pack card so we don't have to worry about price. I smile knowing that this might actually be fun.

When we finally get to the mall everything is so bright. People stare because most of the pack don't come into the city, so to see five attractive females its like a gawking ceremony. We walk into one of the fanciest dress shops I have ever been in.

First to try on outfits is Ari. She looks amazing in all of them but she finally decides on a deep navy blue dress with silver spirals all over the bodice. She decided on a color that would fade in because she already has a mate so she doesn't have to try to stand out.
