Donna is not normal.

She is weird, she never fit in well. Other girls seemed to loathe her, but boys were fascinated by her. They would then realize she was a disgusting human being( courtesy of the girls) and she would be shunned.

Donna is shielded from heartbreak and emotional pain by herself. Her steel walls are impenetrable, which made it impossible to befriend her, even her own mother gave up on her.

Donna is nearly done with all of this. She was graduating from high school soon, then after all this time she would never see these sorry excuses of human beings again.

Donna is moving away. She is packing up and shipping her fragile self to France. Paris to be exact. The city of lights to everyone else, but to her the city of a new beginning.

Donna is scared. She is scared of what the strange people of France might think of her. She does speak fluent French, but she is no beauty queen, no exquisite model. She is simply Donna.

Donna is sick. She is sick of people judging her from a moments glance, sick of people labelling her. Sick of everything.

Donna is waiting. Waiting for that moment in time where everything changes. Waiting for graduation day. Waiting for her new life to pick up. Waiting to be swept off her feet and loved for who she is. Waiting to be understood.

I am Donna.
