Before we start, I highly recommend to listen to the song so you can understand, though I have added the lyrics as well. You'll understand as the chapter goes through. Song: EDEN- Wake Up. So I'll leave you beautiful people here.

Y/N's POV (Italics are your thoughts)

As of today, July 5th of 2016, marks a year since Lauren and I have parted ways. We were the power couple for the singing companies. It was all "Y/N and Lauren sharing this, doing that" kind of stuff. We never had a problem with these kinds of stories. Yes, there were some cheating rumours, but that didn't change our relationship from becoming stronger... But that never happened.

Our relationship was always the "strong, always will be together" kind to the public. Boy, they never knew what happens behind the camera or the front page of a magazine. The accusations would always get worse and our trust soon started dissolving right in front of us. The both of us didn't know if we should believe one another when one of us go out.

Pretty much this definitely lead to major fights between us, one being kicked out for a few days, coming back with the same apologies, the same thing over, and over again. This gave the conclusion that we were better without each other. Don't get me wrong, I love Lauren Michelle Jauregui Morgado still to this day. But a year changed me. My songs became more meaningful to the youth as I sang my heart out about the story that led to the events. Today... today was the day that the real song will be told to the world.

"Ms. Y/LN, you're going to be introduced now," A man told me as I sat on the couch in the Green Room. I nodded and wiped off the sweat on my black skinny jeans. Currently I released a new song called Wake Up, so for the sake of my album profits, I'm on The Ellen Show. I was now standing behind large panels hearing Ellen speak, "You all probably know her, she is one of the greatest singers out there right now, personally she's my favourite, please welcome Y/N Y/LN!"

It was my cue to walk out onto her platform as the crowd cheers. Ellen was standing with her arms out wide, waiting for my hug, which I reciprocated. We then both sat on chairs opposite from each other but still facing the audience.

"So Y/N how are you?" The talk show host asks.

"Oh y'know, doing interviews for my new single. But overall, I'm still staying strong." I smile as the audience claps.

Ellen smiles as well, "Well speaking about your new single, it's called Wake Up, correct?"

"Yes, Wake Up," I nod.

"I have heard it, and probably they," she gestures her hand to the crowd, "have too. But what is it about?"

"The song is uhh, something that hits straight into the heart for me, maybe the audience as well. But it's about doing what you feel is best for you and your significant other. Though, you feel like what you thought was best, didn't really work specifically for you. Yeah." And this was true. Only a year and this isn't working for me, but I'm keeping my head up.

"Wow. Let's give it up for Y/N!" Everyone claps.

I stand up from my chair and walk over to the set-up for my performance. I took a deep breath. The piano began playing. (Song will be in italics and bold as italics only is flashbacks/thoughts)

"Cause we've been driving so long
I can't remember how we got here.

Or how we survived so long."

------

"Hell Lauren! Can't you just believe me?!" I exclaimed as Lauren paces back and forth in the living room as I stand there, watching her. "How can I believe you if I know what goes on between you two?! Tell me, Y/N!" She stood her ground and her face was red. I couldn't believe her that she's arguing that I'm cheating on her. I only met up with my childhood best friend. "Lauren, it's only Jessie we're talking about! I have known her for a long damn time, and Jess and I both know that we would never date each other. She knows about us and she stands as my best friend. Nothing more!" My throat was burning from these arguments. Almost every single day now it happens. But to my surprise, we're still together.
