chapter 1
Lightning cracked across the dark-gray sky as Elodie climbed off the bus, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. She felt rain drops hit her skin and she followed the other students inside the school building. She made it in just as the rain started pouring down harder, thunder rolling in after. Elodie heard lots of complaining about the weather as she made her way towards her locker. As she approached it, she saw a group standing in front of it. They noticed her, too.
“Elodie!” called a tiny, dark haired girl. She was grinning, her arm hooked through her boyfriend's.
“Hey, guys,” Elodie breathed out while working the combination on her locker. “Is there something going on?”
They all looked at each other with a look she didn't catch.
“Why do you think that?” asked Melanie, a pretty red-head. She and the dark haired girl, Beverly, were step-sisters, and the boy beside Bev being Daniel, her boyfriend of two years. They were one of the cutest couples I've seen.
She threw open her locker and hung her bag up, pulling out a notebook, a binder and a pen, then closing it back up. “Because you guys don't usually hang around my locked to wait for me.”
Liam, Elodie's best, best, best friend chuckled and swung an arm around her shoulders. “Well, today happens to be a special day for a special someone.”
Her eyebrows rose up. She opened her mouth to say something when she felt someone's presence behind her. Liam glanced behind them and dropped his arm, stepping away with a small smile on his face. Elodie didn't turn around but she didn't have to. She had an idea about who it was.
“Happy birthday, Loddie.”
Her friends laughed as she spun around, jumping into the boy's arms. He chuckled, pulling her closer. His soft lips pressed against the skin on her exposed neck and after another second, they pulled away to smile at each other.
The boy standing before her still made her heart flutter even after almost a year of being together. His brown, curly hair fell over his green eyes, which were framed by black, thick-rimmed glasses. His dimple popped out as he smiled down at Elodie with the same look of adoration she has seen Daniel give Beverly. The navy blue sweater he wore was neatly ironed as were the khakis he had on. His Converse were the only things he had on that didn't make him look like a complete nerd. But still, Harry looked so fresh and clean-cut. He smelled good, too.
“Happy birthday, Elodie!” her friends cheered together. They started clapping and so did a lot of others in the hallway, even though they had no clue as to what they were clapping about.
Elodie laughed and squeezed Harry's hand, looking at every single one of her friends. “I honestly didn't think any of you would remember.”
“Why wouldn't we?” asked Daniel. “We're your friends.”
Beverly cleared her throat. “I think Harry has a little something planned for you this afternoon,” she giggled.
Harry shot her a playful glare. “Thanks, Bev. She's going to pester me about it the whole day until I tell her what it is.”
Elodie rolled my eyes. “Will you tell me, though?”
He shook his head. “Nope.”
She pouted and Harry flicked her nose.
The bell rang and everyone in the hallway headed for their first class of the day. The group agreed to meet up later then each of them went their own way. Harry was a Senior, Elodie being only a Junior, so he had to rush to get to his own classes before he was marked tardy.
Elodie's dad wouldn't like that since he was the Principal of the school. He knew Harry was sort of a goody two-shoes and him getting a tardy would be as if he murdered two people. True story.
Elodie smiled as she sat down in her seat, not knowing that this special day (as Liam had called it) would soon be ruined.

I know this is short and boring but I promise it gets better and much more exciting by the next two chapters :) This was sort of. . . an introduction? I didn't add a lot of detail about things in here because they'll be useful later on in the story.
Anyway, no this isn't a Marcel fanfiction or anything. Just because Harry wears glasses doesn't mean it is.
By the way, thanks so much for the nice comments I got on the cover and quote haha I read one that literally cracked me up :D
I hope you guys will give this a chance and I love you all for being so sweet ^-^ ♥
(BTW ENJOY THE SMEXY PIC OF HARRY WITH GLASSES ON THE SIDE. I HAD A STROKE WHEN I SAW IT lol not really)
