The next morning Leilani woke up with a splitting headache and the urge to throw her guts up. That's why in a split second the blonde took off towards her bathroom and sank to the floor before the contents of her stomach hit the toilet as her whole body wretched forwards. After a few miserable minutes of throwing up she finally felt better and that's when she realized something major; she was in her house. 'How the hell did I get here?', was the immediate thought that flooded into her mind as she took in the decor of her bathroom.
It was no secret she drank enough to tranquilize an elephant so her memory being fuzzy was more than expected. The thing is, after a night like that she normally woke up in Eric and Annalise's guest bedroom not in her own apartment. 'I can't sit on this floor all day, I have to be productive' her mind shouted at her as she pushed herself off of the floor and flushed the toilet with a groan of disgust. Turning towards the sink she let out a sigh when she saw her reflection, her blonde locks were matted together and her makeup from the previous night was smeared all over her face. She looked more or less like a hot mess, take out the hot and that's what Leilani felt like.
Going through her normal morning ritual at a slow pace as she tried her best to regain any sort of memory of the night before she was at a complete loss on how she even got back to her apartment complex. After she gargled mouthwash for a second time she left the bathroom and made her way into the kitchen. 'Why'd you have to drink so much, now you're gonna have the worst hangover.' Sometimes the blonde wished her inner thoughts had an off switch because lately they'd been nagging her into oblivion.
As she cut the corner to enter the kitchen her she was hit with the smell of bacon and coffee. 'What kind of intruder cooks breakfast?', slapping herself in the head Leilani slowly inched her way into the kitchen and when she did her jaw dropped to the floor.
There he stood in all his gorgeous glory, the man who she seemed to continually think about. It's like this last week the blonde haired man was the center of her thoughts, not that she minded. As if he sensed her presence Matt turned from the stove with his normal cocky smirk carved onto his lips.
"Morning beautiful... Well, right now you look like an uggo, but I'm sure a brush could fix that." 'Oh so he's got jokes? How about he explains what he's doing in our house!' Frowning Leilani moved more into the kitchen until she was leaning against the counter beside him, words not escaping her still gaping mouth. "It's not nice to stare, but I'm sure I've told you this before." He continued as he turned back to the food as if this was a normal occurrence for the two of them.
"What.. What the hell are you doing in my house, Matt?" Finally she formed a coherent sentence as she found her bearings and ignored every desire to reach out and touch his shirtless chest. 'Snap out of it, you're on a mission.' She could hear the familiar click as he turned the stove off and the scrape of a frying pan as he placed the still cooking oil on the back burner. "So she speaks, not quite what I was wanting to hear after I brought your drunk ass back last night but.. It's better than you staring all morning."
So that's how she got home last night, it seems he's once again turned into her knight in not-so shining armor and brought her safely home. 'Jesus, Earth to Leilani this hunk of a man is in your kitchen shirtless and you're mind is wandering!' Snapping out of her daze once again to see him plating the bacon, her once unhinged jaw snapped shut and a frown took over her lips instead.
"How'd you get in? Did you pick the lock?" She cattily mumbled out as he passed by her and set two plates and two mugs on the table. 'Just make yourself at home then..' As he motioned her over she let out a begrudging sigh and followed behind him until she was sat directly in front of him at the kitchen table. Of course instead of answering her question Matt just dug into his breakfast like a pig. Leilani wasn't letting him get off that easy though, she was completely at a loss in this situation.
"Calm down Sparky, I'll answer your questions if you at least act a little grateful that I got you here safe. A thank you would help." Finally looking up from his plate and now half empty mug, Matt's azure gaze locked onto her hazel one as he gave her a genuine smile for once. Running her fingers through her ratty hair, Leilani simply swallowed her pride and leaned her elbows on the table before opening her mouth to thank him. "Thank you for getting my drunk ass home safely.. I appreciate it. Now can you tell me how the hell you got in the front door?"'
A very amused chuckle passed from his lips as he listened to her halfhearted apology which was followed by her previous question. She had to admit that was a sound she quite enjoyed, and she couldn't help the small smile that twitched at her lips when she heard it. 'Focus, you need answers.' Internally nodding to herself she quickly skilled her face back into a scowl as she awaited his answer. "Found the key in your pants pocket, don't worry I didn't get handsy it was strictly so that we could get inside the house."
Rolling her eyes Leilani leaned her forehead against the palms of her hands as she let out a groan, so obviously she was incapable of doing shit for herself last night and he had to practically baby her. God was that embarrassing, having him drag her home and lay her in bed as if she were a child. 'You're so stupid, what were you thinking?' Slowly she peeked up through her lashes at him only to find her gaze still locked onto her as he grinned in amusement. "This isn't funny, I'm embarrassed you had to drag me here."
"Oh don't worry, I didn't mind.. Plus Eric and Anna more or less kicked us out so they could get to 'pillow talkin' and bed rockin' as Eric so kindly put it." When he quoted Zo and used his accent Leilani couldn't help the giggle that slipped from her lips at how ridiculous he sounded trying to imitate his Jersey accent. "Oh god don't ever do that again, it's only okay when he does it." That made the both of them bust out laughing as they sat at the table thinking over his poor imitation of Eric.
Slowly the laughter died down and their eyes once again locked onto each other's. "Thank you.. Honestly, I appreciate you bringing me here last night and staying to make sure I was okay."
"Don't sweat it, you're cute when you're drunk.. Not a complete uggo.."
An unlady like snort passed from her lips at the word 'uggo' which caused the both of them to once again burst out laughing. Honestly he had made her laugh more in the span of an hour than anyone had in her entire life. 'Stop it, he's your friend that's it.' Schooling herself until she was back to normal, Leilani gave him a sheepish smile before she went to stand up and clean their plates off.
"So what's on the agenda for today? We have no shows for the week and I know you'd love to spend some time with Prince Pretty."
Uh-oh, can she survive a whole day with him without embarrassing herself more?
A/N: Short one I know, but just a little cute Matt and Leilani chapter! Next chapter will be their first official unofficial date! Exciting stuff guys!
