Attack On Titan: Syad

Chapter 4

I sat at the top of the wall, looking over at the carnage of what we had to deal with, while I taught Eren about our Titans.

"How can we do this?" He asked me.

"I don't know about you, but mine is a genetic thing. I can change because someone in my past relatives could." I replied.

He looked at me. I sighed.

"That's all I know. I don't know who in my family was able to do this before me but I do know I can now. This is what happens when you're family is banished to live outside the walls." I said, "now do you understand what I told you about keeping control?"

He nodded.

"Keep a mission in my head, and if I don't have a mission keep a thought instead." He replied.

"Good. Now lets go meet up with the others and give our input." I said.

He and I got to our feet and walked over to Mikasa, Armin, and the general. They watched us come over.

"Are you sure this will work?" The general asked.

"Yes. I've been able to do this all my life. I can keep control right off the bat and if Eren can't though I am confidant he can then I can also help him. Plus some of us gain a talent in our other form. There's a female that can call other Titans in to eat her and free her human form, and I can talk sort of in my form. And if our human support gets into too much trouble each of us can hold two of them in our cheeks where they're safest." I said.

I sat there and folded my arms, staring the man down.

"This better not fail otherwise you both are going to be sentenced to death for treason." He said.

I snorted, "Eren lets go. The sooner we get to the boulder then the sooner we can close that hole and reclaim this section."

He nodded. We ran along the edge of the wall as far as we could. We were as close as we could get to the boulder without leaving the wall. We were alone. Once we saw the signal we would be good to go. Mikasa, Connie, and Armin joined us by the wall. I met their eyes and nodded.

"We can do this. Just remember if you get in trouble come straight to us even if we have the boulder. Eren you grab the left side of that thing and I'll grab the right." I said, taking charge.

I couldn't tell if they liked orders coming from me or not, I was below Mikasa in our rankings in any case. I reached a hand out into the center of our small circle.

"No matter what we are a squad. Right?" I asked, suddenly unsure of that.

"Right. You're the best leader we could ask for. You know how to help Eren control himself, and how to fight these things." Mikasa said.

She put her hand over mine with a small smirk. Connie covered her hand, then Armin and finally Eren.

"A squad of five. And no one is going to separate us if we have any say about that." Armin said.

I smirked. The signal sounded.

"GO! Watch our necks!" I ordered.

I got a running start and leapt off the wall. I drew blood by biting into my arm. The quick pain was instantly healed when I was incased by flesh. My feet hit the ground and I opened my eyes now taller and ready for a fight.

Eren landed next to my on my left.

"Eren...." I growled.

He held up a thumbs up. He was good. I nodded, though I would keep an eye on him.

I knelt at my side and gripped the boulder. I looked at him. He did the same on his end.

"One..... Two..... Three!" I groaned.

I lifted my end to be level with his and we started off. Our steps were in sync as we walked through the streets. I could feel the rock starting to crush my steam powered body.

"Faster." I groaned desperately.

The two of us picked up our pace fast enough to keep our bodies from being crushed. We reached the bigger hole and with a nod we wedged the boulder into the hole. I leaned against it for a minute. Eren was overheating. I could see it. Shit. That means I have to get the other boulder for the smaller hole on my own.

"Eren. Stay. Still." I said.

He looked at me blearily. I grabbed his head in one hand and gently moved it forward. I bit into his flesh and tore my head back. The flesh covering him on his neck tore with me. I spit it to the side, letting it turn to steam. Eren was sitting half unconscious, half in his Titan body, half out. I leaned down carefully and closed my teeth over Eren, not hard enough to break the skin, just hard enough to hold on to him. I pulled him free of his Titan and using my tongue I got him to my cheek where he could cool off.

I started back to the other boulder. Mikasa, Armin, and Connie landed on my shoulders.

"Is Eren alright? We saw you pull him out of his other body." Connie asked.

I nodded and let off some steam from my nose to show he had just gotten too hot. Mikasa nodded.

"We'll get you both cool when we're done. I promise." She said.

I nodded slightly, careful of my cargo.

A roar came from behind me. I spun to face it. A Titan had broken free of the ranks and was coming at me.

"We got it! Syad you get that hole patched an protect Eren!" Armin yelled.

The three humans zipped off to face the Titan. I ran through the streets of town, listening to the fight. The boulder was right there. I could get it. I picked it up, and being careful of Eren, sped off as fast as I could, which was not as fast as I would have liked. The ground shook as the Titan my humans were fighting went down.

Finally the two holes were blocked up. No more Titans could get in. Now the humans could handle the others that are inside the wall. I picked up my humans and made it to the safety of the wall. I spit Eren into my hand as I reached the wall. Using my free hand I climbed up to the top of the wall. I set the humans down before tearing myself out of my Titan.

I landed next to my humans and stumbled. Connie caught me but hissed in pain and backed away.

"You're burning up." He said.

"Too many changes too soon.... It's what happened to Eren. We're made of steam when we're in our Titan bodies. We'll be alright..... After we rest for a while." I said.

Connie nodded. Being careful to only touch our clothes the three of them helped me and Eren down to the safe side of the wall.

The next thing I know is Scouts and the Royal Guard were surrounding us. They tore me from Connie and Eren from Armin.

"No!" Mikasa yelled.

Eren and I were dragged away from Mikasa and the boys and into a buggy. Before I knew where we were going I was gagged and blindfolded.
