Chapter Three
^^^^^
"And here we are," he said.
"We're already at the temple?!" Tune exclaimed.
He put a hand over Tune's mouth. "No, I mean now we're in a tree, dingus," he rolled his eyes, putting his hand back down.
"Well then," Tune pulled the tip of his hat down.
    He laughed, "Someone's excited."
Tune crossed his arms, and let out a grunt of annoyance.
"Sh!" he whispered, and pointed up.
Tune was in awe, there were millions of small flying flashing green lights, then far far away was billions of tinier white twinkling illuminations. And you could clearly see the beautiful cream moon hanging brilliantly in the night sky.
"Wow," Tune breathed. The boy smiled as a response.
"Hey, while we're here," he started. "Let's just... talk."
"... Talk about what?" asked Tune.
"What you're thinking, where your from, just anything," he replied.
"First I want to know your name," Tune stated.
"Okay," he responded hesitantly. "It's Sky."
He nodded, making sure he remembered, "Tune."
"How about we take turns talking about ourselves," Sky suggested.
Tune nodded, "So... what's your favorite color?"
"Black, since it's all the colors," Sky said. "You?"
"White, since it's just... white, you can't exactly describe it," Tune replied.
"Okay, would you rather it be night for the rest of eternity or day?" Sky asked.
"I'd say night. Since it's quiet, you can see the stars, and it's very peaceful," Tune answered.
"Well, I chose day. Since it's bright, and you can see what's around you. Plus, if it's night the plants will die, and slowly everything else," he said.
"But if you chose day it will just make everything too hot!" Tune replied. "Plus, you could just eat mushroom stew your whole life!"
Sky snickered, "Yeah, sure. As if /that/ won't get boring to eat at all."
"Pfft," Tune grunted. "Anyway, where are you from?"
"Well," started Sky, "I'm from a small town called, Forplume. Very quiet, very happy, very simple. Not for me. I wanted something loud! Something adventurous! Something crazy! Somewhere where I could be... me. But one day... my brother, the only family I have left, just burst out on me, saying I need to be more responsible, more strategic, more mature. So I just do what I always do when things get tough. I ran away. I've been trying to accomplish something, something big, so when I go back they'll see I made a difference."
Tune nodded in understanding, "I came from the busy city of Tapledale. Everyone who's fortunate looks out for each other, people like me scavenge. You can't build your way up. You're just trapped in a cage of society." He made hand motions to emphasize. "You have to fight to keep food on the table if you even have a table. If you wear something too simple people assume you're poor and want to steal from them, that's how people see you, you can't ever change that. So... if people just saw me as a dirty street boy. That's what I am." He stated simply. "But I don't think about it too much-"
"Tune..." Sky started. "You're so much more than that! I saw you jump off of that cliff away from those men-"
"Those men were trying to stop me from getting the map," Tune interrupted. "See? Causing trouble. Like all street boys do."
"Tune!" Sky repeated. "You can't see it yet, but you're something else! You're not an average "street boy!" You're determined and clever! And I know that deep down you're a good person!"
"No," Tune denied. "You're wrong, I'm not a good person. I steal, I cut the corners, I do things so I can get my way."
Sky sighed, and looked up at the pure white saucer that still dangled in the air. "I was never good at making people stay, including myself. Not that they ever had a good reason to. I'm just too much for some people."
    "What?" Tune blinked. "For who?"
"Well there's a lot of them. My sister, Cumala, my friends Helias, Confucia, Aire, Bram-"
"Wait, did you just say... 'Aire?'" Tune asked.
"Well, yeah," Sky replied. "We used to be real close. But she started getting... salty.  She just stopped respecting me and my opinions. We got into a big fight, next thing you know she moved on as happy as can be."
"But, she-" Tune started, a low growl was heard. They both turned to look at the source of the noise and a pair of luminescent emerald orbs looked right back at them.
    "Run."
