"I can't wait for summer break," I said to Amber.

"Same! It will be so fun. We can finally hang out more often!" She replied. I was very excited as well. We had a lot of homework so we usually couldn't hangout together.

"Well, see you after school!" She said. We didn't have the same classes so we only could see each other at lunch and after school on our bus.

"Bye!" I screamed after her. After we rode back I headed to my house.

As I opened the door, I heard shouting. Probably from my mom. I didn't want to deal with it so I took some snacks and headed into my room. My mom and dad usually fought so I was kind of used to it. I ate my cookies while drawing a sketch of the lovely sunset.

"Celia!" My mom called. I assumed it was time for dinner and jogged down the stairs.

"I'm going to get the groceries. There's some pizza and juice for you on the table. Bye!" She said.

"Okay, thanks and bye!" I called after her.

My dad was at the computer doing his job. My mom and dad were fighting because my dad's business was not doing great and she was hoping to go to Hawaii for summer break.

"Hey dad, how's your business going?" I asked.

"It's going better than before I guess," He sighed. I knew he was giving up hope but I believed he could do it.

"That's great! Keep up the good work." I replied.

"Thanks Celia."

I finished dinner and was about head back up stairs but my dad called,

"Hey Celia can you pass me a slice of pizza?"

"Sure." I replied. I passed him a big slice and poured a glass of juice for him.

"Thanks honey." He said.

He gave me a quick kiss on my cheek then went back to work.

When I retreated back to my room I finished up my drawing, then changed and brushed my teeth before going to bed.
