Bzz. Bzz.

"Dammit, too early for this shit."

Maddie rolled over onto her stomach, burying her face in the body-length pillow at the head of the bed. Solomon had spared no expense in furnishing the guest room. He had gotten her another soft, white comforter for the night until he had the other one cleaned up from the little mess Porgi caused.

Bzz.

Maddie groaned again, reaching to put her hand on her phone and silence it. All of the buzzing was from just one chat, one of her favourites -- a group of all girls who had met on a roleplaying forum in their early teenage years. Much like the chat she shared with Solomon, they had grown up together, and closer to each other, over the years and were a big family. Donna was complaining about something -- Korean music, it seemed; so she decided to briefly read through before replying.

[04:42:57 AM] maddie: it's been interesting to say the least

Despite how oddly easygoing her family was about the whole ordeal, she couldn't tell her friends. It would've been far too hard to explain, so she left it at the idea that she was visiting an uncle. She figured she could deal with the punishment of whatever god or goddess was up there later on.

Rain began to drizzle, maing a soft sound against the roof of Solomon's flat. She found it incredibly soothing, even as thunder rumbled and lightning flashed, lighting up the guest room. Admist the booming, she heard the pitter patter of little feet.

Solomon's cat?

She had forgotten the animal's name already, but it started with an M...

Meww.

Maddie sat back up and saw the cat's shadow cast onto the floor as it meandered in, but she was too tired to stay up for long.

Meww.

She felt shifting on the bed as one side got heavier, and heard paws as they walked up the bedspread. Right as Maddie tried to get up again, the cat dropped, nuzzling against her leg.

"Well hello..."

She reached out and ran her fingers through it's soft, white fur, the animal purring in response, clearly pleased. She couldn't help but find the thought of Solomon having a cat "cute." He had a gruff personality to people outside of their little group, to the point he had been banned and muted across various games. Mostly a lot of utterances of the "F" word, and once or twice the "C" word.

That didn't, to her, give the impression of a soft-spoken cat owner.

But then there was Solomon Solomon, not Numbers Solomon, kind and caring and wanting her to be comfortable and happy during her stay. It was so odd.

Then again, him inviting her here was odd as well. Everything was odd.

Before she could spend any longer thinking of the oddities of this turn of events, she fell asleep, all while holding Solomon's cat.

Final Ticket, as slow as I've been updating it, will go on a month and a half long hiatus due to me participating in National Novel Writing Month. The upside to this however is the novel I will be writing for it also involves Maddie and Solomon.  In fact, it will tell the story of how they meet, and provide a little backstory for them both. Everyone will be free to read it via my fiction Tumblr. My fiction Tumblr is http://oasisdoll.tumblr.com and the tag will be "first impressions."

The only stipulation is that because it will be for NaNoWriMo, it will be very unpolished and to be honest, quite bad. So if you're wanting to read, read at your own risk, and critique as always will be very welcomed.

You've reached the end of published parts.
