Making big time
You know when you here people say they made it from nothing? Sometimes I really wonder what nothing is because I think I know what nothing is. Poor area, no good choices anywhere you look and the worst of the worst surrounding you. It's hard to move or break the patten of drug selling and gang joining that you see around you because that's all you see. Fathers, uncles, big brothers, older cousins. All you see is them completing the cycle but you don't see the bad. You see them bring home the money, providing for the family and you begin to think its the only way but it isn't. All they need is to see one rise up. One to show that they can do more. They don't have to follow the cycle.
I saw what I had and used. Instead of sitting around complaining about what I didn't have, I decided to use it. I used every little opportunity I had to make a greater one and I worked from nothing to show them that they can come up too. You don't gave to stay in your current situation. You can do better.
And that's what I expect from our young black boys for the future.
