"Here we are." Frisk said, hiking up the last rock. I followed close behind. The hike took a little bit of difficultly, as I had only one free hand to work with.

She got on top of the mountain and held a hand out to me. She grunted a little as she helped pull me up onto the top.

"I forgot how steep that hike was." I said, breathing heavily. I may be in shape, but that hike took a load on anyone.

"Yeah." She agreed, starting to walk towards the drop. We walked over vines and rocks, and all sorts of other things.

I paused, and taking a deep breath. Frisk noticed I stopped and turned to face me.

"What's wrong?" She asked gently.

"T..This is the vine I tripped over, causing me to fall." I said slowly, a wave of nostalgia washing over me. Images flashed through my head, my hike up, the tears, the frustration, the vine, the "trip."

I took a deep breath, calming myself.

"Okay, I'm okay." I said opening my eyes, suddenly realizing they had been closed. Frisk was looking at me, an endearing look on her face.

"You don't have to go any farther if you don't want to, Chara." She said kindly. I took another deep breath, and shook my head.

"No, really. I'm okay. I wanted to get over this anyways." I answered, reassuring her I was okay. I needed to face this, face this old life, the old memories. Hopefully, I could maybe find peace with it somehow... maybe.

"Okay." She smiled. I caught up to her, and there we stood above the deep hole we both fell down before. Suddenly she tripped a little to the side, seeming to loose balance. I panicked, seeing her tumble to the side. Luckily, she only fell a little.

"Frisk! Are you okay?" I asked worried, putting my arms out to catch her if she were to stumble more. She put her arms out for balance and took a deep breath.

She looked at me, her eyes a little teary.

"I'm having the waves of nostalgia I think you experienced with the vine." She answered, laughing a little. It wasn't a funny kind of laugh though, it was a sort of desperate, sad sounding laugh.

"Yeah, I know. They can hit you kind of hard." I said, feeling sympathetic. We've both been down this road before, we've both gone through the experiences. We both understand.

We stood, lost in our thoughts. The wind blew through our hair, the chill feeling kind of calming.

"Okay, let's start then." Frisk said, refocusing on the task. Her voice pulled me out of the memory world I had been lost in.

"Yeah." I nodded.

She walked over to a tree and tied the rope around it.

"Do you think the rope will be long enough?" I asked, noticing the tree was sort of far from the drop.

"I think so." She said, kind of paying attention and kind of not.

"Oh, okay, great." I replied sarcastically.

"I'll go down first, okay?" I said, grabbing the end of the rope tying it around my waist.

"Wait! What if you get hurt? Why don't I go first?" Frisk asked, panicking out of nowhere.

"Frisk, it's fine. We've both taken the fall. Even if the rope failed I'd be fine. I've gotten stronger." I said confidently. I was pretty strong, I think she knew that too, although we also both knew she could handle herself as well. However when it came to it, if one of us were to take the fall I'd rather it be me.
