I was still buckled in as my life flashed before my eyes. I could feel the sand on my feet. I'd lost a shoe. I was injured, the blood ran down the side of face feeling as if a spider was crawling down and stopped at my chin. I opened my eyes slowly, nothing was broken just an busted eyebrow as far as I could tell.
The screaming of the passengers felt like a piercing ringing in my head so I immediately pulled my hands up to cover the sound until I could hear normal again.
This time it was less screams. I unbuckled my seatbelt and stumbled out of what was left of what was left of the control area. I looked to my left before leaving, my co-pilot wasn't there. He must have forgotten to buckle up.
As I walked through the doorframe I used all I could for balance. Again, less screams. I watched as passengers tried to help passengers as their blood gushed out from necks, arms...heads. People tried tugging at me asking for my help but I just walked on by.
The plane had broken into two. I started to feel dizzy as I exited that plane I could feel the bile in my mouth but I didn't let it out. Instead I fell to my hands and knees before falling all the way over. "I always knew you hated me." my eyes looked towards the sky as if I could talk to God himself. "But that's OK the feeling is mutual." my eyes blinked a couple of times for the darkness took over.
Earlier that day. . .
"Sarah honey! You're going to be late for work." my mother's gentle hand shook me, waking me because my alarm clock failed to like always. I listened as her feet scooted across the ground in those black and pink house shoes she'd got for Christmas.
I wasn't all the way awake but as soon as I smelled that morning brew of fresh coffee I jumped out if that bed faster than you could say creamer. It was the only way anyone could get me up.
I didn't have time to sit down and eat breakfast because I couldn't be late for work today. Believe it or not, sunday are one of our most busiest days. I put my uniform on and walked into the kitchen to my travel cup filled with coffee and a scone. "Thanks mommy." I smiled giving her a hug.
"Have fun at church." She signed as I walked towards the door. "When are you going to start believing Sarah?" I could hear the plea in her voice. "One day." was all I said before leaving out of the door.
When I gotten to work that day it had seemed like a normals day. Everything checked out normally, no suspicious activity and gas was full. My co-pilot, Landan was early as always. When I got in he was on the phone with his boyfriend gossiping about what happened at some party. I just shook my head as he put his phone away.
"You weren't there so don't be shakin' that blonde head of yours" I just laughed and picked up the mic. "Good morning passengers please buckle up because we are about to take off I hope you enjoy yourselves on flight 97"
