1: Day in the Life

"Jason... Wake Up!"

     I open my eyes to see my sister Rachael and my dog Randy hovering over me. My sister is 9 years old and still doesn't know how to knock. Whenever she wants something from me she brings in my dog to try to convince me to do what she wants. And it usually works. My dog is a new puppy we rescued from Indiana. He's a Pug.

"What do you want" I say in a tired voice

"I want a Barbie!"

"Ugh Rachael why do I always have to bring you to get stuff"

"Because you love me and you love Randy and he's really cute!" she says batting her eyes

"Fine just give me a half an hour to get ready"

"FINE!!" stoping out of the room

     I roll out of bed to see Randy sitting on the floor with his toy carrot in his mouth. He wants me to play with him. I throw around the carrot a few times and then proceed to get ready. I throw on my baseball tee and my new Tilly's jeans. I then head to the bathroom to fix my hair and brush my teeth, now i'm ready to go.

     Walking down the stairs I see Rachael sitting on the kitchen counter with my mom's hair brush in her left hand and her curling iron in her right. Her hair is a tangled wreck. I wal over to her, take her off the counter and start fixing her hair.

"You know mom doesn't want you playing with her stuff, right?"

"Yes I know"

"Okay, now go put these back." I say finishing up her hair.

"Ok"

     As she puts the brush and curling iron away I grab my wallet, keys, and phone and put on my shoes. Rachael runs down the stairs and grabs her shoes and now we both walk out the door. I open my car door and place my sister in her car seat and buckle her up. I get in the front seat, start the car, and plug my phone into the aux chord. I usually listen to my music in the car but I decide to choose a playlist my friend posted on Spotify. The playlist is titled "Internet Artists". The music starts playing and I instantly notice Jacob Whitesides singing Ohio. My sister also instantly knows the song and she begins singing, and i join.

 As we drive we make a quick stop at Starbucks. As we pull up to the drive through I instantly know what I want. I roll down the window and order a Venti Iced Carmel Macchiato for myself and a Tall Vanilla Bean Frappuccino for my sister. As we sit in the drive through an unfamiliar song comes on. Its a guy singing. I look over at my phone and notice the guys name is Shawn Mendes and the song is called The Weight. I instantly fall in love with the song. We pull up to the window, pay, and grab our drinks.

     We continue our journey to the store. As we pull up to Target we get out and my sister dashed for the door. Target is one of my favorite places to just shop around. I let my sister go hang out in the toy section and I decide to go look at the CD's. I shuffle through and find Blue Neighborhood by Troye Sivan, Get Weird by Little Mix, and 1989 by Taylor Swift. I grab all 3 and continue looking. I then stumble upon Handwritten by Shawn Mendes. How come Iv'e never heard of him? I also grab this one and decide to go check up on my sister. I walk over to her and she has picked out two dolls. Scuba Barbie and Lifeguard Ken. We walk to the register pay and then leave.
