Author's Note: Haha, hello guys! I'm putting Separate Ways on hold so I can start this. There is violence in this, with some use of bad language. If your sensitive to either of those things, I recommend you turn away now. But to the other views who aren't, I hope you enjoy reading it! This is going to be kind of a romance/Thriller story so stay tuned! Yuck I sound like a person just before a commercial.
..................I covered my face with my arms, shaking.
"Please stop! If I did something wrong, all you have to do is tell me!"
I felt a hand around my neck, squeezing it through my choked sobs. Then suddenly, it released. Thinking it was a dream, I looked up. It's was everything but a dream. One blow to the stomach was all it took. I landed back with a thud, my head hurting like crazy. He stood over me, cracking his knuckles.
"Don't black out now, that was only the beginning"
I felt myself being lifted by my hair, then thrown. Mother was there, watching.
"Kick her, hard." I could hear her say.
He did as he was told. He kicked me in the stomach, repeatedly. I tasted blood. So much off it. He punched me in the eye, joining in the laughter of my mom. Then he grabbed me by the hair, lifting my head up.
Mom walked over to me, kneeling down to where my ear was. She whispered careless insults and curses into my ear, my Stepfather laughing at most of it.
The pain in her words seeped in slowly, causing me to cry, my mom joining in the laughter now. The last thing I could heard was the front door opening, then i passed out.
I awoke covered in blanket on top of blankets. I stretched out very gently, now starting to remember the pain.
"I should have came sooner."
I pulled down the covers and saw my stepbrother there, silently talking to himself.
"Axel?" I cleared my throat. "Axel, did you get off work early?"
He turned in my direction, smiling softly. "You're awake." He moved the hair out of my face, looking at my right eye.
"Axel, why are you back so early? It's ten, and you get off at one."
"I quit." He said so calmly, like it didn't even matter to him.
"You what!" I shouted, leaning on one arm so I could get up close to his face.
He chuckled. "I don't want to live in fear knowing you're in pain every day."
He took a breath, his tone now serious.
"I don't want to not have you in my sight. I need to know when you are alright and when you aren't. As the true man in this household, I need to look after you, and know you're safe."
He put a arm around my waist, looking down at my right black and purple eye. I could see sadness but also hate in his hazel eyes. He started to mumble under his breath. it wasn't exactly nice.
"Are you really going to do this, for me?" I whispered, feeling a light blush come across my face.
"Anything for you." He pulled me close, still looking at my eye.
Silence filled the room, besides the sound of rain hitting against the windows lightly, It progressively getting harder.
"How many drinks have you had! You can barely even stand you piece of shit!"
The calm sound of the rain was interpreted by yelling, my parents yelling.
"Fuck off, Riley! I've only had two!"
I'm guessing my dad responded.
"Two whole bottles of pure crap? You have been out for hours! I told you to stalk up on some food, not waste it all on vodka! You disgust me!"
My lip started to quiver. My mom also drinks, sometimes even more then my dad.
Then I heard it.
The sound of a glass breaking, followed by the sound of my mom's screaming.
Out of nowhere, Axel releases his grip on me, laying me slowly back to bed.
"Axel? What's happening?" I said like a stupid child. I clearly knew what was going to happen.
"It's alright, stay calm." He clearly needed that advice. "I'm going to check it out, don't move." Not like I could.
I nodded, pulling the covers over my face as Axel opened the door.
