From the day Emily was born, Rosy was always by her side. Rosy was a small, white and fluffy canine, who loved to cuddle and keep everyone fine. Emily was a curious and kind child, she was very charming and her temper was mild. Each day was full of wonder and fun, playing lots of games in rain or sun. When the day came that Emily had to go to school, Rosy sulked with a lonely heart, lying by the pool. But every day, she would come back without fail; Rosy would leap with joy and wag her fluffy tail.
The weekends were always the best, because Emily would bring home guests. They all would laugh and play, until it was time to go home for the day. On one particular day, Rosy was playing chase, but Emily fell down and could not finish the race. Her parents came back to help her rise, but poor little Emily could not open her eyes. Soon she was taken away by people in green; Rosy could not believe what she had just seen.
Rosy barked and cried at the door, until the father came home with eyes looking sore. He gently brushed back her fur, and told her Emily could not come back to her. "The doctors will make her well for sure! They just need to find a cure." Rosy gave father a cuddle and went to lay down to rest, hoping that the doctors will do their very best.
Time went by and Emily finally came home, but her face was pale and she was thin to the bone. She did not wish to run and play, but she still loved cuddles, always. Rosy tried to make her as happy as she could, be it to help her paint or have a walk in the woods. Though Emily would still smile happily, her parents would only smile sadly. Rosy heard mother and father say "It could be months, weeks or days" Rosy gave out a tearful sigh, Rosy did not want Emily to say goodbye.
Rosy looked upon the full moon that night, and she wished upon it with all her might. A voice beamed "You may have your wish, simply give her a gentle kiss" Rosy was so thankful to the holy light, but wondered what the price shall be on this night. "The price is large indeed; a life for a life is what she needs." Rosy agreed it was fair, since Emily's life was to be spared. She ran up to Emily's bed, gave her a kiss upon her head. A beam of light swarmed around them, magic was beginning to happen! Colour returned to Emily's face, her body plumped and her heart raced. She awoke and smiled, feeling well after such a long while. She tried to wake little Rosy up, but the life already left this pup. As she began to cry, something caught her eye. It had begun to snow heavily, the wind was blowing steadily. As the wind blew her way, she could hear a distant voice say "This was my wish, so do not be sad, live your life full of joy, there's plenty of adventures to be had!" Emily wiped away a tear and watched the snow pass by; she looked upon the fur white as snow and said her last "Goodbye".
She never forgot the wish given by her friend, even when she was old and at her own end. When she entered the path into the light, she was greeted by her pup that was fluffy and white. Friendship has no end; it is forever, even if it takes a while to bring you back together.
