While I am trying to write on Shaken, I'm having some writers block. So here is chapter one of Watchers. I'm hoping I can get more out on this or get passed my block on the other. This is a little slow, but I swear it's going to pick up. I'm hoping people will actually read this.
So here we go into Lexa and Lucas' lives. Get ready, it's going to get a little crazy.

I looked up at the house that I remembered from my childhood. Shaking my head I looked down the street before walking up to the door and knocking. I ran my hand through my brown hair. My eyes darted around the front yard as I waited for them to answer the door. I had become anxious the moment I stepped into this town again. The door opened behind me and I turned back to look at Lucas' mother.
"Hello, Mrs. Mason." I could feel my throat going dry. "I don't know if you remember me..."
She started to wave me off. "Of course I remember you Lexa! How are you? Are your parents back in town?"
"No ma'am. I'm just visiting some old friends around town. I was actually wondering if Lucas was here."
"No, he is living in an apartment up in Tyler. I can give you his address if you would like? I know he'd be so excited to see you." I nodded at her and put on my best smile before telling her that would be great. She got a piece of paper out of a drawer right by the door and wrote it down for me.
"Thank you so much Mrs. Mason. It was great to see you again."
After she closed the door I walked down to my car slowly. Inhaling deeply I started it and began the short drive into Tyler with is address put into my GPS on my phone. The drive was quiet and quick. I pulled up to the apartments and looked down to see what his number was before I got out of my car. I walked slowly up to building 2 and then looked for door number 214. Knocking on the door my anxiety spiked, he might not even remember me, or care to help me. It had been so long since we moved.
The door opened just a sliver. "What do you want?" came out a gruff voice. I was scared I had gotten the wrong person at this point.
"Um..." I cleared my throat and started over again. "Is this Lucas? His mom gave me this address; maybe she gave me the wrong number. I'll just go back over to her house and get the right on. I'm sorry; I didn't mean to disturb you. I just..." I was rambling and I couldn't make myself stop.
The door opened up wider and I was looking right up into the same crystal blue eyes of his mother. He kind of took my breath away and is what finally caused me to stop talking. He'd grown a lot since the last time I saw him, he had to be over six feet tall. And his dark brown hair made his eyes look that much bluer.
"Lexa?" his eyes seemed to grow larger as he looked at me. "What are you doing here? It's been like 5 years."
I shuffled my feet and looked down. "Uh, actually it's been almost 6. I was wondering if I could come in and talk to you."
He nodded to my question and opened the door up and moved out of my way. As I stepped in, I took a look around. While the living room was clean, there wasn't much in it, a couch, a TV, some sort of gaming console and a laptop sitting on the arm of the couch. He motioned towards it and I took a seat and he sat down on the other side.
"So... what did you need?" He rubbed the small scruff on his chin and tried to look calm, but I noticed he wouldn't look up at me at all.
"Lucas I just... you know I'm just going to come right out with it." My heart was pounding so hard I figured he could probably hear it too. "I know my number is coming up and I wanted your help. You've saved me twice already... I thought you might be able to save me a third time." I locked my eyes on his and refused to look away. If I was going to ask for help, I needed to mean it.
"Look, I don't know what I can do to help you; I can see that your number is up in about 2 months but what do you want me to do Lexa? I don't even go out in public anymore unless I absolutely have too. I hate seeing these numbers. As a kid I was a little more ok with it, but as I got older it became something else. I know when everyone is going to die. When I see a little kid and the number is low I freak out. I'm in line at the grocery store and the old lady if front of me bought enough food for the month but I know she'll die before she uses it all. It's a chore, add in that no one believes me, not even my family, it is a weight I can't take off. I have been taking college classes on line and doing odd jobs on the internet to make money. I order most of my food to be delivered to my door because I can't take it anymore." He slumped down into the couch and I swear he was about to cry. "You are one of the only 2 people that believe me Lexa, you and my little brother. That's it. I would love to help you but what can I do?"
I took the opportunity to move closer to him and laid my hand on his leg. "What if I could help you out as well? Maybe make a deal, I could get things you need from stores or whatever and just hang out with you and when April 5th comes around you can just keep me alive, like you did the last 2 times?"
His laugh was rough and not at all humorous. "Look, I guess I could try, but I really don't want to be to blame for your death if I can't save you. I have enough guilt. But I guess I really have nothing to lose, and someone to talk to that doesn't think I'm crazy kind of sounds nice. Where are you going to be staying?"
I shrugged my shoulders, and looked down at my feet. "I hadn't really thought that far, I actually just came here on a whim. I was just hoping you'd help me." I looked back up at his gorgeous eyes and he sighed.
"Well, I have an extra room, it's only got a bed in it though, I guess you could stay here until we save you?"
I smiled my first real smile in a long time and wrapped my arms around his middle and hugged him close to me. "OOOhh I'll go get snacks and we can have a sleep over party and fill each other in on our lives since I moved. Sound good?"
He hesitated and then wrapped his arms around me and pulled my head into his chest and sighed. "That sounds fine. You know, I haven't had a hug in a while, thanks for that."
I grinned up at him and grabbed my keys. After asking him what kind of snacks he liked I headed out to the store.
Things were actually looking up for once.
