~Mike~
It was almost two am now and Tony and I were going back to sleep at his. Mainly because if my parents knew I had been out all night, they would have a fit. As we rounded the corner and reached Tony's house, we both noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway.
"Who's car is that?" I asked confused.
"I have no idea," Tony responded, shrugging.
As we went closer to the house we could both clearly see a light on in the living room.
"Who's in there?" Tony asked, holding my hand tighter and moving more into my body, as though he was looking for protection.
"Okay, I'm going to go in first and I'll tell you if it's safe or not," I whispered, quickly kissing his cheek. He nodded in response.
I slowly opened the door as quietly as I could and to my surprise, found a somewhat elderly man sitting in Tony's living room, shuffling through papers on the coffee table.I pulled Tony in with me, seeing no real dangerous threat.
"Excuse me, can we help you?" I asked calmly to the man, looking at Tony for reassurance.
The man looked up suddenly and fixed his gaze on Tony, smiling.
"Hello gentleman, my name is Duncan White and I have been assigned as Tony's social worker," he told us, stepping towards us. Tony seemed terrified and moved behind me, locking his arms around my waist.
"Social worker? What do you mean? Tony doesn't need a social worker," I responded, frowning at him.
"Well, actually, he does seeing as he is seventeen and therefore a minor, living without a legal guardian. As a social worker, it is part of my job to provide him with one," he informed us.
"There is no way you're sending him to a foster home," I responded simply.
I felt Tony tremble against me and turned to face him.
"Calm down, turtle, I promise you're going to be okay. Take a deep breath in... And relax. You're okay," I assured him, cuddling him close to me and kissing the tip of his nose.
"If I may interrupt, I'll return at some point tomorrow. Have a pleasant night," he said to me. I scowled in return, feeling furious and scared about what would happen to Tony.
I looked down at him in my arms. He was crying now which broke my heart.
"Hey," I spoke softly, running my thumb across his cheek to wipe away tears.
"I don't want to leave you, Mikey," he hiccuped, circling his arms around my torso and pulling me in tight, sniffling against my chest.
"I won't let you, Tone," I whispered, combing my hand through his dark chestnut hair and wrapping my arms around him protectively.
A/N: short but I hope you enjoyed. Thank you for reading and I hope you all had a great day and if not feel free to rant about it in the comments. I will hopefully update again tomorrow.
