Surrounding me were a ton of whispers-
Whispers about Osana.
Whispers about Saki.
Whispers about who farted in the lunch line.
Whispers about Kokona.
Everyone in homeroom had the same thoughts on their minds- what was up with those three, beautiful, talented girls. The first one turns out to be crazy, the second a slut, and the third has someone out to get them.
For some reason, the thought of Osana tripping down the stairs had been completely overshadowed by a rumor that Osana Najimi has somebody out to get her. When the ambulance came, they had noticed that there were injuries in her arms completely unrelated from her broken leg from the fall. It's like a perfect filler for a fanfiction- you leave out a small detail in an anime, and fans decide to fill it up with theories and nonsense to make up for its lack of fulfillment.
Some people had theorized that Osana is being attacked by a loan shark, or that Osana has a secret lover that's angry at her for calling him a baka. But the only one who really knows is whoever pushed her. I know she was pushed because everyone thinks the 'Great Osana Najimi' is way too perfect to fall for a silly mistake like tripping her perfect ass down the stairs. I kinda want to shake the hand of whoever it was.
But what I really want is for Taro to stop crying. Everytime I catch a glimpse of his face in the halls, he's always wiping away a tear and pretending to be okay in front of me. I think it's beautiful to try to hide his emotions in front of me, but if he wants to cry, he should do it on me again. I stare out of the window and catch one of the teachers talking to a police officer- I hadn't known that the situation was that serious.
Everybody was outside talking about it like someone had died. Even if she did, it's just Osana. Come on, guys.
Sitting alone on a bench was Taro, still wiping the tears from his eyes. I want to lick them away.
"Eh-excuse me, Taro, are...you okay?" I ask, still focused on his wet hands.
"I'm fine Shin. I'm just crying so you can drink them from my cupped hands." he responds with a wide smile.
"R-really? Thank you!" I say, preparing my mouth.
"Open wide, buddy!"
.
.
"Shin? Did you come over here to say something?" the real Taro says.I blush a little. "Y-yeah. I wanted to ask you if you were okay..."
He looks at the ground. "To be honest, no I'm not. I'm really worried about her Shin. She broke her leg, man. It's not like her to make mistakes like that." Told ya. "I keep hearing rumors, rumors that someone pushed her. Do you, do you think it's true!?!" he asks desperately. I don't like that.
"No Taro, I don't think it's true. Don't you think it's more likely that she tripped and fell rather than be pushed?" I smile warmly. I hope it doesn't look creepy.
"Yeah... yeah. You're right Shin. She just fell. I have nothing to worry about, and neither does she. Phew~" He looks significantly more relaxed than before, even smiling. He has such a beautiful smile. I almost can't blame anyone for falling in love him him. Almost.
When Taro had died, the only thing I wanted at was for him to come back to life, and Osana Najimi dead. But now, I see everything much more clearer. Taro is in love with Osana- a truth that I can not change. He's such a great guy, and he deserves every little bit of happiness. If Osana is the person that makes me feel that way, then... maybe I should cheer them on? I want to try, but... it hurts me every little second I imagine Taro with anyone else.
