Sammie's POV

So Niall kept driving, as I had asked him to. And the rest of the ride was silent, for the most part. There was an awkward cough here and there.

We arrive at the restaurant at about 8:16 and are told to wait for a short time, seeing as we are early. "You look wonderful tonight." Niall whispers in my ear. "Thank you, I tried to look my best for you." The words slip from my mouth. I sit there in shock of what I said...waiting. "Why? What's so special about me that you want to look your best?" He asks with the biggest smile spread across his face. "Well," I look down in hopes that I'll find the answer on the floor, "I don't want you to be embarrassed to be seen with me. So if I look my best, I'll prevent that." He brings his hand up to lift my head. "Sammie, it doesn't matter how you look. I will never, ever be embarrassed to be seen with you." He looks at my lips as though he's thinking then back at my eyes, then he grins. I felt his hand slip from my cheek, and I just wanted it to stay there forever, it felt like I was dreaming. Like none of this was real, and I knew that moment he let go, I'd snap back to reality. And I wanted to stop it so much, but I did absolutely nothing. I let his hand leave my face, and suddenly I was back at the restaurant.

"Horan, table for two!" The waiter called, he was quite tall with black hair and green eyes. I won't lie, he's pretty good looking, but I'm all for blue eyes and blonde hair. We stood up and immediately Niall grabbed my hand. I looked down and before I knew it, blood rushed to my cheeks. I smile uncontrollably...and everybody knows it. We are seated at a window table and Niall pulls my chair out for me. The moment he sits he grabs my hand again and just holds it. Staring at the waiter as he asks us if we would like some wine. Niall tells him no, on the account that I'm not old enough to drink yet, and the waiter walks away. "So. Do you like my hands, or what?" I laugh. "I didn't like the way he was looking at you. He needed to know right now that you are mine, not his. He can't touch you." He sits there as if he just received shocking news. "I'm your's?" I ask trying with all my might not to grin. "Uh...I...mmm...I mean-" he stutters trying to save himself. "Hey, Niall..." I pause, "I can be your's, if you want me to. I would like that." I sit regretting everything I just said, not knowing if he'd respond the same way. "Yeah?" He smiles and looks down, "I'd like that too." We sit here just staring into each others eyes for a moment, and I never want it to end. But I know something will disrupt our moment.

"Hello, my name is Charlie. I'll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with anything?" I look away from Niall and see this talk blue eyed man, about 23 years old. He looks like a living God! But Niall was still better looking, in my opinion. Only because I know him personally. He smiled with beady eyes, and he looked at me with this gleam of determination. Like he was interested in me, and Niall notices it. I felt his hand squeeze mine tighter, and I was losing some feeling in my fingers. "I'll have a...Pepsi." Niall said with slight irritation. "And I'll have a Dr. Pepper please." I smiled at Charlie and he nodded and walked away. "There are too many guys here looking at you. Only I should be allowed to look at you that way, not one other guy should." Niall has said in utter annoyance. "Pay no mind to it. Just remember that you've spent the night with me before, and you're taking me home tonight." I tell him trying to clear his head. He smiles, and my heart melts. I can't believe I fell in love with my high school bully! I've never felt this way about anybody before...not even Jake. When I'm with Niall, I feel safe. I don't want to wake up in the morning unless I know I'm going to see or talk to him...the day seems pointless if I don't hear from him. Maybe I'm just being stupid, who knows. But I'll be honest, since I've started seeing him, I've been thinking he's the one.

"Alright. Pepsi for you sir, and Dr. Pepper for the beautiful lady." Charlie comes back and places our drinks on the table. "Are you ready to order?" I panic knowing I haven't taken one look at the menu. Niall gestures Charlie to come closer and whispers something in his ear. Charlie nods and walks away. "What was that?" I ask. "I ordered for you. I hope that's ok, I know you're going to like it a lot." He smiles and gently strokes my hand with his thumb. If I were standing, I'd go very weak in the knees. "Ok, I trust you."

Niall's POV

Sammie telling me that she trusts me, means the world to me. I wanted her to say it again, and again. "So, Izzie? How's she doing?" She asked shyly. "I don't know. When we saw her she told us that you just kicked her out of the flat." I said, avoiding eye contact at the moment. "I can't believe what she did in high school." She says irritated. "What she did? What about me?! I was a total asshole!" I claim. "You're not wrong, but it just hurts more. She was my best friend." Tears started to roll down her cheeks. She was right...it must suck to have your friend hurt you like that. It must be horrible. But I have to admire how long she kept it a secret, don't get me wrong she's a total bitch...but seriously she kept that a secret for approximately five years. That's really impressive. However...it's horrible she didn't feel guilty. I grab her hand off the table. "I'm really sorry Love. Sometimes...people...just aren't who they seem." I stuttered. She smiled, "Clearly, or I wouldn't be here with you." As I always did when I was with Sammie, I started to blush again.

Time passes and our meal finally arrives. "Alrighty, so I have a plate of lamb chops for the gentleman and a caprese salad. Enjoy." Charlie walked away and stared at Sammie as he did so. Sammie looked at the salad set before her. The look on her face was like she was disgusted. "Niall..." she started. I began to sweat, I made a mistake. Her sneer disappeared and became a toothy smile. "How did you know this is my favourite food?" At once she dug in...and I could once breathe again.

The meal was rather nice but I just wanted to get out of there. And by the look on Sammie's face, she wanted to as well. The entire time we ate Charlie and one of the other waiters kept looking over at the table and would walk over to talk to Sammie. It was nonstop and getting rather annoying. I paid for dinner giving the minimum tip, for flirting with the girl I brought. I picked up my coat and took Sammie by the hand. We walked out together placing insincere smiles on our faces. When we got to the parking lot Sammie started to laugh. "What's so funny?" I asked chuckling. "Just the waiter flirting with me. I'm really sorry about that." She said grabbing her neck. "Why are you sorry? It's their doing, they couldn't stop talking to you." I said a bit irritated. "Well, we're friends. I know Charlie from culinary school he's my partner." She smiled slightly. I look at her, "Is he...interested in dating you?" She burst into loud laughter. "Hell no! He's never been interested, never will be." "Why not? You're absolutely beautiful and amazing and..." I started to stutter. "Niall he is gay. The other waiter that he was with is his boyfriend." She wiped a tear from her cheek from laughing so hard. I start to laugh. "Wow...I didn't even know." Her laugh slowly stopped but the grin stayed in place. Her smile left my heart racing at a hundred miles per hour.

"It would be nice to leave." Sammie said looking at the car. "Yeah. We should really getting going." I decreed but didn't do anything. "Niall?" She said my name with a soothing tone that lead me to lean closer to her.
"Yes?" I pondered as I got even closer to her body, and her lovely, beautiful lips. I closed my eyes ready place my lips gently on hers. "Are you going to open my door?" I open my eyes. Sammie is still looking at the door handle waiting for me to open it for her. I come to my senses and immediately back off and get closer to the car. I open the door and gesture into the car. "Malady." She snorted. "Thank you kind sir." I start the car and start driving. "So where would you like to go?" I asked her. "Well, I haven't been to your place." She jested. "Louis is my roommate. I'm not sure that's not a very smart idea." I proclaim trying to change her mind. "Oh. Good point. My place it is then!" She smiled and placed her hand on mine and not moving it. I keep on driving back to her flat as we joke and not once did we remove our hands from each other's.
