It's been a few weeks since Kai showed up and so far so good. Besides the whole Liv attack, we haven't seen or heard much of him. Which is nice, but also suspicious. As far as we know, he's running around Mystic Falls, which is good for him because if he stepped back across that border, Damon would rip his head off. Good for us as well because as long as he's in there, he can't use his magic, aka not being able to murder his family, supernaturally of course.

It's a few days till Christmas and I'm currently Christmas shopping for everyone. Elena and Damon are searching for new ways to bring Bonnie back. Caroline, her mom, and Stefan are decorating the dorm with Christmas lights, and Jo and Alaric are trying to maintain their jobs, so I'm the errand runner. I'm starting to regret it though when I find tampons on Caroline's list, which is weird considering she's a vampire and doesn't have a menstrual cycle anymore, but I guess it'd be weird to other people if a young women didn't have tampons, have to keep up the human act somehow. I'm checking out when I get a call from Alaric.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey. Have you heard from Jo?" He asks me frantically.

"No why?" I'm slightly concerned

"Well she never came home last night and when I talked to her last she seemed anxious to get home." Ric explains. Uh-oh.

"Call Elena and Damon. I'll be right over." I say then hang up.

"So I asked around at the hospital. No one's seen Jo since last night at the E.R." Elena explains. Ric, Damon, and I sit on Ric and Jo's couch in their apartment while Elena paces in front of us. "A bunch of stab victims came in and one of them is missing as well."

"It was Kai." Ric states surely. "Jo knew he'd come after her, and he did."

"Not to give you boyfriend lessons or anything... but if you knew Jo's wack-job brother was out, on the loose, and after her don't you think keeping an eye on her would've been a smart move?" Damon cockingly asks.

"And what would you have me do, Damon? Ask you to compel Jo to stay put?" Ric stands his ground.

"Guys, if Kai has Jo, we need a plan." I urge.

"I agree." Elena says.

"Plan's easy. Find Kai" Damon flicks his knife. "Kill Kai" He ends with an ear to ear smile.

"Oh yeah Sherlock Holmes how do you suppose we do that?" Ric asks. Damon shrugs.

"Well we can start by letting the others know, so they can keep an eye out." I suggest.

"Sounds good, I'll call Jerm and Matt so they can keep a heads up from inside Mystic Falls." Damon say then gets up to call.

"I'll text Caroline." Elena states.

I vamp- eavesdrop on Damon's phone call.

"Just think sociopathic Ryan Reynolds." Damon explains. He was much cuter than Ryan Reynolds. I shake the thought away. "Grunge vibe, annoying as hell." I was thinking more hipster, he is from the 90's though. "Well if he has half a brain he'll be hiding where vampires can't find him, so in between levels of Mario Kart, can you and little baby Gilbert keep an eye out?" Matt gives a short response and they hang up.

"Well Beavis and Butt-Head are on the lookout." Damon explains while walking back into the room. "Anyone else brimming with confidence?"

"I mean this just doesn't make sense." Ric starts.
