<Lauren's P.O.V>
As I opened my eyes, I saw a flash light blinking at me repeatedly, causing me to groan.Stupid alarm clock. Should've never bought it.
I got up and stretched before going into the bathroom to brush my teeth. My hair looked drained as it hung over half of my face. I quickly rinsed my mouth before trying to brush the tangles of doom. After 20 minutes, I succeeded getting my hair untangled. I quickly put on tight jeans and a white shirt that had a coffee mug with a mustache on it.
I stole one more glance in the mirror. Man, I'm looking good, I thought to myself as I smiled. My heart was beating fast. I would be able to start a new life here in San Diego! I tried my best not to smile from ear to ear as I got into my beat up SUV. It may not look good and the cushions may be ripped up, but I loved this SUV with all my heart. That being said, I started the car and drove myself to Sanders High, checking myself in the mirror every now and then.
When I finally got there, I parked in an empty lot and got out. I was about to step onto the platform when I bumped into someone. Without thinking, I grabbed the person's arm so they wouldn't fall. When my vision wasn't blurry anymore, I saw a beautiful girl before my eyes. She smiled and said something, but I couldn't hear her because I was too focused on her beauty.
"Hey, hello? Anyone in there?" She waved her hands in front of my face as she questioned me. I laughed. "Yeah, I'm in here" I told her. We both laughed and then exchanged names.
Camila, huh? Such a beautiful name..
"Well, I better get to class. The math teacher, Mrs. Smith, will force me to stay after school and listen to her repeat the whole lesson if I'm even a second late." Camila told me. I agreed that we should go our separate ways and went inside the school. I picked up the sheet that had my schedule on it from the administrator's office and started looking for my class. I finally found my English class and went in. Luckily, I was saved by the bell as I got into my seat.
<Camila's P.O.V>
The world around me was in slow motion as I ran to my math class. I almost stepped into my class when Mrs. Smith stopped me and the bell rang. I was late.Mrs. Smith let me in and said, "It's nice you even cared to join us, Camila. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the lesson again after school."
That stupid girl. If she didn't bump into me and then decide to make short conversation, I would've been here on time. Why did I have to be so nice to her? It's not like she deserves it.
I zoned out as I thought about ways to get my sweet revenge on... What was her name? Oh, right. Lauren. Meh, it's not a bad name. Kind of reminds me Lana Del Ray. You know, I wonder what Dinah and Normani are up to. Dinah's probably sleeping through class and Normani's probably getting lots of attention because she's so funny and chill. You know, I'm quite curious. Are those 'keep calm' shirts still available? They're aw-
"Camila, since you are so focused on this math problem, I figure you did it all in your head and already know the answer. Please, tell us, what is the answer?" Mrs. Smith smiles innocently at me.
I swear, she'd win the Teacher of Doom Award if we weren't all afraid we'd be doomed for infinity if we got close to her. Oh wait, I already did. No wonder time hasn't been on my side lately.
"What's the point in telling you now if I'll tell you after school?" I responded. She shook her head. "I'll assume you don't know the answer, then. Tommy, what is the answer?" She focused on Tommy, who was trying to hide his doodles. "Uh... 41?" He nervously chuckled. What an idiot. It's 42. And yeah, I did solve the problem. Right after she asked Tommy to solve it, of course.
<lunch time>
<Lauren's P.O.V.>
For some reason, even though I spent only three hours here, I already have a gazillion friends. It was hard to pick what table to sit at because everybody wanted me to sit with them. That's when I saw Camila sitting at her table. Because I've talked to her more than everyone else, I decided to sit next to her."Hey," I said. "How are you?"
She looked at me and then laughed. Between her giggles, she managed to say, "Who do you think you are? I don't want to be your friend, loser."
I felt a pang. I murmured an "uhh" and got a reply back.
"Didn't you hear me? I said, I don't want to be your friend. Now, please, go away."
I gulped down my water as I stood up and moved to another table. All the sudden, people started shaming Camila. I watched as her smile turned into a frown. She looked down and then made a run for it, heading upstairs. Even though she hurt me, that kind of went too far. I took a peek at her friends who were chasing after her.
After everything went silent, I ate my food. I didn't want to look at anyone, so I quickly put the tray on the little table and headed to my class.
