<Lauren's P.O.V.>
I groaned as the alarm clock beeped. I put it on snooze and rolled over on my bed, eventually falling off it. I rubbed my head and put my blanket back on the bed as I slowly regained all my memories. Today is Friday, which means there's only one more day until the beach party! I marked Friday with an X on my calendar and wrote beach party under Saturday, circling it with a blue marker. I tried to stop smiling as I brushed my hair, put on shorts and a pink shirt with pizza on it, and put light makeup on. I slipped on my nike's and grabbed my purple backpack before running out the door and getting into my SUV.

When I finally got there, I parked my SUV and got out of it. I immediately spotted Camila and walked up to her.

"Hi, Camila!" I smiled and waved at her. She smiled and waved back. "Hey, Lauren. So, which party is cooler? A beach party or a house party?" She asked. "A beach party," I said with a smile. "Why?"

"Because there's this popular boy, Carlton Vause, who's having a house party on Saturday. See, Ally, there's nothing to worry about. Of course people would rather come to your beach party than some stupid house party." Camila assures her friend. I join them as we all walk together into the school.

"Well, me and Dinah have to go to French class, so au revoir" Normani said, linking Dinah's arms with hers and walking to their class. "Well, see you, Ally and Camila." I told them before walking to my class.

"See ya!" They both shouted in unison.

<2nd Period>
<Camila's P.O.V.>
I walked into history class and sat next to Lauren. We exchanged smiles but then there was an awkward silence while we waited for the teacher to walk in and take attendance. I racked my brain for ideas as I looked at the blank page in my notebook.

"So, have you ever been on the Voodoo Zip line?" I asked Lauren. "No," she voiced. "What's that?"

"Well, it's a zip line here in Los Angeles that's 51 stories high. You know, since you've never been on it, maybe we could ride it this Sunday?" I asked her, getting my hopes up. She grinned and agreed that we should. In my mind, I was dancing with confetti falling on me. I couldn't help but smile as the teacher walked in and finally took attendance.
The whole class me and Lauren made eye contact and smiled. I'm no seer, but I knew that we were both glad about spending time together on Sunday.

<Time skip to lunch>
"I need help, my wonderful friends. For the party, should there be nachos or pizza?" Ally asked, desperate for an answer. Me and Lauren said nachos and Ally and Dinah said pizza. Ally groaned in frustration and decided to just have both.
I took another bite of my sandwich when I felt a splash of water on my head. The freezing water quickly trickled down my back as I shivered. I looked behind me and didn't see anyone.

I was about to ask my friends if they saw who splashed me with water when I saw Lauren get up and head towards some guy. She was scolding him but he didn't look frightened at all. I heard him utter a "sorry" before walking away. Lauren scoffed as she walked towards our table and sat down. "What a dick. If he does something to you again, Camila, tell me. I'll make sure to give him a taste of his own medicine." Lauren looked angry as she said this. My eyes glimmered as I looked at her.

My Hero..

I suddenly came back to life when Lauren pinched my arm.

"Hey, weirdo, why were you zoning out?" Lauren asked, smirking. I blushed and swatted my hand. "No reason. Also, I'm not a weirdo. I'm a dragon." I declared.

"And I'm a unicorn" Lauren beamed. So did I.

"Are you sensing something here?" Ally whispered to Normani and Dinah. They shrugged as Ally deeply thought about the two. She came to the conclusion that they were just friends.

The bell rang and me and Lauren put away the trays and then took a brisk walk to the gym lockers. I took a peek at Lauren and felt my heart beating faster.

How wonderful it would be to feel her soft lips crash against mine, to feel the warmth of her body..

I felt myself heating up. There's no way I like Lauren! I like boys and I'm straight.

No you aren't.

I furrowed my eyebrows in frustration but then relaxed when Lauren touched my shoulder after we changed into our gym clothes. I felt butterflies in my stomach as she looks at me deep in the eye.

"Hey, are you ok?" She asks me. I nod my head. She smiles and takes my hand as we go to the line. I slightly smile, trying to hide how happy I am as she entwines her fingers with mine. However, as soon as the coach enters, she lets go. I feel a pang of pain that quickly disappears when the coach forces us to do 30 laps. I take a break around the 21st lap and Lauren stops when sees me. "Out of breath?" She asks. "Yeah" I manage to utter as I breathe in and out, in and out.
"Here, do you want me to give you a piggy back ride?" She asks, wiggling her brows. I can't help but giggle and nod my head yes. She chuckles and I get on her back. She starts running past all the others as they stop and stare at me with envy. However, our awesome adventure comes to an end when coach blows his whistle and screams, "CAMILA AND LAUREN, THAT'S TEN EXTRA LAPS FOR YOU. AND NO MORE PIGGY BACK RIDES!"

Lauren sighs as she lets me down and we walk the ten extra laps.

"I'm sorry" I apologize to Lauren. "Don't be sorry, I'm the one who offered it. Besides, now that we're the only ones on the track and almost done with the tenth lap, it's kind of awesome. Plus, we burned more calories then they did, so that's a bonus." Lauren said, making me feel better. I agreed. I like how she finds a light in every dark situation.

I love her...

I sigh and look at Lauren who looks back at me. That's when the butterflies come back into my stomach. I feel tempted to kiss her but I do my best to hold back. I feel so many mixed emotions: sadness, happiness, emptiness, and so much more. Do I really love Lauren? I think this as she inches towards me, leans in, and hugs me. I feel relief and safe as I hug her back. I don't care what others think of us and I don't care. I smile as Lauren pulls away and grabs my hand. "Ready?" Lauren asks, beaming once again.

"Ready."

And with that, we run, hand in hand, to the finish line. Feeling the rush of excitement of finally accomplishing 40 laps, we high-five and then join the others in a game of soccer.

<Chorus>
<Lauren's P.O.V.>
"So, class, I have very special news," our chorus teacher told us. "We're having a spring musical!" As she said this, everyone cheered. She then made us quiet down and told who would play what part in the musical. I waited anxiously for my name.

"... And Lauren and Camila will be the main leads in the musical. Okay, that's everyone! Now here are your sheets that will tell you when to play and what musical notes to play" she says, handing everyone sheets. I smile and look at Camila. She's looking at me, too, her eyes twinkling. I'm so happy that she's going to be singing with me! I sigh in awe as I look at her. I'm about to say something when I get my sheet and she does, too.

"Every night until the musical I want you to go over your lines so you will remember them, okay?" She told us. We all said 'okay' and then put the sheets in our backpack and left.

As I enter the hallway, I get pushed forward due to all the students running out of the school in a hurry. Typical Friday. I feel someone hold my hand and look at Camila. "These crowds can be kind of pushy and all so let's help each other, yeah?" She smiles. I feel a warmth grow in me as our fingers entwine and we get through the crowds and outside. We meet Ally, Normani, and Dinah outside, me and Camila still holding hands. I see Ally raise an eyebrow but I ignore it. Camila smiles and so do I. After a minute or so we let go and say our goodbyes. I enter my SUV and before I start the car I look at Camilla one last time, admiring her beauty.

I smile to myself as I start driving home.
