Chapter 6: Escape

Carla hooks up the equipment to the zip-line and gets ready to jump. She looks down from the building and sees all the cars. She feels her pulse was very rapid because she was nervous to jump down from a forty foot building.

"There is a better way of getting out of this" said Ezra.

"I'm sorry, there isn't a better way" said Carla.

She counted to three and jumped off the building. Ahhhh... she screamed all they way down. She touched the ground with a thud.

"Did you get the PHP?" replied Lucas.

"Yes, I got it but hurry up the guards are coming."

They get in the car and get out of there. When they were going home she was thinking in her head why did I ever agree to do this. Why didn't I just get help from Ezra, would it even make a difference. She wanted to do the right thing but it would cost hundreds of lives.

"Good girl, we are one step forward to making this official" Landon told Carla.

"I'm not doing this for you."

"No, you're doing this for the greater good. Now it's time for the next stage."

"If it involves me getting romantically involved with somebody, then count me out."

"Lucky for you, this doesn't involve you to steal or touch anything."

"Yeah, what is it then?"

"Looks like you need a good night sleep."

Gabe came around her with a towel and smothered her with chloroform. She was slowly passing out struggling to get some air. Then she see's black and she is out. When she wakes up she is tied to a bedpost. Carla looks down and she is in a pink silky gown. Carla is emotional tired, and drained.

"Hello, I would like to know why I'm tied to a bed."

"Sorry for the change but this is the part of the mission. I like to introduce you to Aubree.

She is now your partner."

"That doesn't explain why I'm tied up."

"Oh, this is punishment for questioning me."

A few feet away there was a fireplace lit. It had a metal pole just resting in the fire. Carla saw it and she knew what was about to do. On the outside she seemed to be calm, but on the inside she was screaming.

"With all my partners I like to perform a ritual to make sure they know that I mean

business" claimed Aubree.

Aubree started to slide Carla's gown to the middle of her leg. Then she went to the fireplace and picked up the metal pole. At the end of the pole seemed to be a symbol that looked like a flame that had the words "Burn."

"Don't worry it won't hurt you that bad. It will hurt a lot" Aubree said.

"You don't have to do this you know."

"I do because that is my business."

Carla was trying to struggle but she was held down so tight that she couldn't move at all. Then you felt the heat and screamed! After the heat was off of her leg she felt the burn up and down her leg. She was in so much pain that she blacked out. She woke to see that she was in her bed. There was a note and a short blue dress with silver heels that read put this on and come down stars we are going out tonight. She put on the dress and put her hair up into a braided bun. She put gold eye shadow with a dark pink lip. She then put on her shoes and went down stairs. There was roses that started at the top working its way to the bottom. At the bottom there was another note that said follow the arrows. Carla followed the arrows and Landon and Gabe were standing right in the doorway.

"Where is Aubree? I thought that she was supposed to be my new partner."

"Lets just say that she is half way towards success. Gabe convinced me that you needed a little get away before your next mission. You got five days to relax but you should know that people that I have on the outside that will be watching. Try to escape there will lives lost because of you."

Gabe looked like a new person. His hair combed back and wearing dark blue jeans with a button up shirt."

"I guess since Gabe is all dressed up he is the one that did all the roses on the stair. I'm guessing that Gabe is my escort for the night then."

"Yes, you will be with him for a next couple of days. You two need to really get to know each other because he will be working with you and Aubree from now on."

"Shall we go Carla?" Gabe said

"We shall."

They went to a party in a town called Madison square. Little did Carla know that they party was all for her. Gabe told Carla to close her eyes. They were in a park, Gabe put Christmas light everywhere and decorated a table with a candle standing in the middle. He even hired a chef to cook a really fancy meal.

"Open your eyes Carla because you are going to be amazed."

"Wow, I know what to say. You did this all for me?"

"I know how you feel like you have to help so many people and you need to know that you

are very important."

Gabe took out his phone and played some classical music and then grabbed Carla by the hand and asked her to dance. She was hesitant at first but she wanted to know what love felt like. She never really felt like she mean't a lot to Gabe. Carla wasn't sure if she like Gabe or if it was just the nice party that was going on.
