August had always dreamed of having a cliché romance exactly like in the movies or books. You could say she longed for her own Augustus Waters or Edward Cullen. Her nose was always stuck in a book or in her phone role-playing with a friend as she pretended to date her favorite celebrity. August was a dreamer in every sense of the word, until the day she met Xavier Holden. It was an average day for August, just waking up and reading, eating, sleeping. Her schedule was rudely interrupted when a sudden knock echoed throughout her single room house. As soon as she opened the door she came face to face with Xavier. Awestruck, all August could do was shamelessly check out the 6 foot something green eyed man with shaggy brown hair. The moment Xavier saw August with her unruly golden brow hair, red nerd glasses and brown eyes, he was smitten. He'd never seen a woman look so beautiful without even trying, maybe it was the slight buzz from the alcohol he'd drank that made him think that way. Shaking his head, Xavier flashed August a heartbreaking smile and asked if he could use her telephone. Xavier didn't really need to use her telephone, but him and his buddies were playing truth or dare with alcohol and this was his dare. To ask the pretty girl across the street from their frat house if he could use her telephone, all the guys wanted her but she either was too oblivious to notice their advances or didn't even care. August of course gave him her cellphone, without a word. The man had left her speechless, any other woman would've been the same when he used that smile against them. Remembering her manners her mother gave her, August let him in her house and offered him a glass of water that he gladly took after flashing her another killer smile. Once Xavier finished the call the house was filled with awkward tension, neither of them knowing what to do but stare at one another wordlessly. August quickly started talking a mile a minute, something people have told her she tends to do when she's nervous. Xavier just watched her, amused as he thought about how adorable she look with that awkward expression on her face and the words she seemed to ramble endlessly. He couldn't tell you watch she was talking about even if he tried, his eyes seemed to be drawn to the way her mouth moved as she formed the words. Without realizing it he had kisses her, silencing August's rambling and filling the room with nothing but the sound of their heavy breathing and kissing. August could think of nothing but how soft Xavier's lips were and how he tasted of faint whiskey and strawberry Chapstick. Xavier on the other hand, was practically melting at her touch as she ran them through his dark silky hair and trying to muster up all his self control to pull away and not take things further. Once the kiss had ended, August touched her newly swollen lips that seemed to tingle from the previous events and all Xavier could do was stare at the beauty in front of him that he'd had the pleasure of kissing. The kiss seemed to disperse all the awkward tension and the two seemed to flow into a conversation that lasted until the early hours of the morning. August felt like she'd fall asleep at any given moment, but she didn't want to wake up and find the man in front of her gone. Xavier knew it was incredibly late and he should leave, but the woman in front of him left him in a trance he couldn't seem to escape from. And that's how their meeting ended, falling asleep next to each other on August's incredibly small couch. They woke in the morning to find their bodies tangled with one another, not bothering to move the two started up their conversation they ended early that morning as if they weren't wrapped in one another and hadn't just woken up. After that night, it was as if August never left that couch and Xavier never left her house again. They were smitten with each other and anyone could see it. You could call it another cliché romance, because that's exactly what it was but to August and Xavier that was just life and the many surprises that come with it. ly like in the movies or books.
