Retrieving Drake

Zaid's POV

Honestly. Seeing Drake that helpless and scared put everyone into a elapsed silence. Drake was stained. He was filthied... And most of all...

Ripped of something precious.

Everyone saw it.

Julian was in hysterics afterword, Dominik trying to calm him and himself from destroying the computer.

Violet couldn't take it in and just up and fainted. Which made my brother grateful for the distraction.

I on the other hand couldn't even bare to look at the screen.

"We can go get him now. But we have to attack right as the time they settled goes out because after that they'll tie Drake up, probably stab his leg for good measure and ditch somewhere. Once we find him we heal him and bring him back home." Carson made it seem simple.

"NO ONE WILL STAB MY SON!" Julian roared and stormed over to the coat rack, jerked his coat off and walked outside.

Dominik after a moments hesitation hurried after him. Carson growled and ran out as well.

"Stay here." I looked at Max and he nodded. I Followed the three vampires... Well Julians not a whole Vampire but you get what I mean.


Upon arriving to the desired location I could see Drake laying on the ground. losing a lot of blood from a cut across his stomach. Not deep, but painful. He looked like he had given up awhile ago as he just had his eyes closed and leaning up against a wall.

The vampire that took Drake was standing next to Drake with a gun to his head. When we arrived he smirked. "I guess you got my invitation this time. what about the first one? You never set up a meeting with me. I was very sad you know." He looked down at Drake. "So was Drake here. Wouldn't stop screaming for his pathetic excuse of dads."

"Oh shut the hell up. Hand Drake over." Julian sneered and stepped forward.

"No. I want Carson in exchange for Drake. Otherwise I'll take my leave and you'll never see Drake again." The vampire gripped Drakes hair and pulled him up so Drakes lifeless eyes stared at us. He just seemed so dead.

"Well I refuse to go with anyone like yourself. I'm not a plaything and neither is Drake. So just put the gun down and give Drake back." Carson stepped forward now.

The vampire scoffed. "No way Carson. You know why I want you, you traitor!"

"And taking Drake is not making me come back. The only people your hurting is Drakes family. Just let him go."

The vampire grit his teeth and shoved Drake down onto the ground I felt my heart break in agony as he didn't fight to stay up. Drakes skull collided with the ground.

"Drake!" Julian went to run forward but Dominik held him back as the gun was still pointed at Drake.

"You are a son of a bitch Carson! Just hand yourself over and you'll make some people very happy."

I looked at Carson. His face was blank. "I don't care. The only way you'll get me is you catch me yourself." Carson took off down the street and the vampire an his hidden men ran after him. Leaving Drake.

Julian, Dominik and I ran forward and crowded around Drake. Julian pulled Drake into his arms and cried. "Oh Drake baby... Daddy's here for you."

Drake had a bruise and cut along his temple and his body was covered in grim and little bruises in the general area around his thighs and chest. the only thing he wore was underwear right now.

"Is he still breathing..." I asked quietly.

Dominik leaned forward and checked his pulse. "he's here. Just knocked out. Its best if we get River over to put Drake under some drugs and get him set up in bed."

Julian continued to cradle his baby before he allowed Dominik take him. I wished I could do something for Drake, Julian, Dominik and Violet. But I don't know of anything.

I just followed Dominik as he carried Drake home. "Julian grab my phone and dial River for me."

Julian nodded and reached into Dominik's front pocket with a sniffle and wiping his eyes. He pulled out the phone and dialed River.

I don't know who River is but he must be some kind of doctor from what I can infer.

"Ri-iver? It's me. Julian... Yeah... Drake needs medical attention and a check up... Thank you... And sorry for waking you and whoever that is up... Kay... Bye." he hung up and continued to wipe the tears from his eyes as we slowly made it back to the house. Violet and Max waiting for us.

"How is he?!" Violet came running up looking at her brother with tears in her eyes.

"Give him some space. He's suffered a lot Violet." Julian patted her shoulder. "He'll be okay though." Max looked at me. He must of sensed my feelings.

"Hey Vi? I need to talk to my brother. Go inside without me." she nodded and followed her family inside.

"He's... So crushed Max." I held back my tears. I had come to love Drakes bubbly personality. Now I don't know if I'll see it again.

My brother put his arms around me. He's really been a rock for me and Violet tonight. I started to cry and buried my face in his shoulder, putting my arms around him feeling like a girl.

I don't know how long he let me cry but I finally pulled away. "tomorrow's Monday right?" it's been a whole weekend... And it's been the worst weekend ever...

"Yeah... I'm going to tell mom to tell the school and you are absent till your ready."

I nodded. "she probably so worried about us." I sniffed and pulled away from my brother.

"She is. But she's letting us keep our secrets."

A car pulled up and I looked over curiously. I saw a tall blonde man exit the car with deep blue eyes. He had on a doctors coat, a pen and a brunette man on his left.

"You must be Zaid?" he looked at me. "and Max?" he looked at my brother. We each nodded.

"Hello then. I'm River and this is Justin. He's my nursing partner and my boyfriend. We brought some equipment if you'd like to help us unload it." He popped the trunk.

Max and I nodded and went over their car and helps pull out a heart monitor, a folded I.V drip, a small container of medicines and needles. Also a odd object (to me anyway) a ultra sound machine. how they got it with them don't ask me.

"What's the ultra sound machine for?" I looked at River as he helped me carry it inside.

"A theory of mine. I had to get the machine from a friend that takes it with him when he does missions work in different countries. This is just a small portable version of the actual thing. It probably won't work as well either." River shrugged.

We Entered Drakes room. Dominik having forced Viet and Julian out awhile ago so Diver had space to work, we set up. I took an occasional glance at Drake. His eyes closed and his arms folded neatly over his stomach. grim still covered him but Julian still dressed him anyway. Drake looked blank. Almost lifeless.

"Justin, can you attach the I.V. drip with some blood transfusion for Drake. I'm sure he lost a lot of blood, it would be good to boost the process of healing up." Justin nodded as he had just wheeled in the I.V drip. He put in some of, I'm assuming, Drakes blood type into a bag and attached it to Drake by inserting a needle into the crook of an elbow. "did we being the oxygen tank and mask?"

"Yes but they haven't been unpacked yet." Justin replied.

"We need it quick. so after your done there go get it."

Max pulled in the heart monitor. He set it up and River lifted Drakes shirt a little and attached the sticker things to his chest making the machine beep.

"So why don't we take Drake to a hospital?"

"To many suspicious things in his case. The bites. The capture in the first place, how we got him back... It's just easier on Drake to." River shrugged and I nodded. I watched Drakes heart monitor beep quietly.

Justin brought in the oxygen an mask and quickly hooked Justin up with it making Drakes monitor go up a little.

I stood now off to the side as I studied poor Drake.

"You okay?" River asked me as he gave Drake a shot.

"I will be when Drakes all better."

River nodded and sighed in relief. "we can continue tomorrow, thanks for your help." I nodded and excused myself to the guest room across the hall that I have been using the past two days. Julian and Dominik two doors down and Violet is share if her room with Max at the beginning of the hall.

I undressed and got in my pajamas. I sighed sadly and climbed into bed after brushing my teeth. Skipping dinner again.

"Please be okay Drake. I want to see you smile again one day. please hang in there... Please."
