--------

The two had been together for about a half a year now. Not too much had changed. Natsu still burst into her house, still tried to read her novel, and still annoyed the hell out her. But still, they wouldn’t have any other way, no matter what they said. It was early spring, and everything was in bloom. Today, the Sakura’s were going to bloom. It was early morning, and the sun was shining through the window on Lucy’s room. The blonde, however, was still asleep. Natsu was the first to wake, smiling at what he first saw when he opened his eyes.

“Mornin’ Luce.” He mummered, like he did every morning. He stifled a laugh when he realized that she was hanging onto him like a teddy bear. “She’s so cute, especially in the morning. And today is the day. I hope it isn’t too soon.” He felt her begin to stir and her milk chocolate eyes fluttered open.

“Natsu? You’re awake already?” She yawned. Lucy smiled at the man in front of her. “Good morning. I’ll go make breakfast.” She went to get up, but Natsu pulled her back down.

“Nah. I think I’ll keep you here for a little bit.” He grinned wickedly. Lucy squealed.

“What! No! Don’t you want food?” Bargaining often worked when someone was obsessed with food.

“Well, I already had a plan. We’re going to the guild for breakfast.” He didn’t tell her, but he had the whole day planned out, up to a certain point. It revolved around a simple yes or no question. It took a bit, but using food as a bribe, Lucy was released. She went to go get dressed after bathing, choosing a cute white sundress for the day. She decided to do something a bit different with her hair, braiding it herself.

“I’m ready!” She skipped out. Natsu was sitting there, looking....nervous? “Hey. Is everything okay?” He looked up, pulled from his thoughts.

“Y..yeah. Everything’s fine. Let’s go.” The group headed out, hand in hand.

“You’re here early.” Mira commented as Nalu walked into the Guild Hall.

“Natsu suggested we come here for breakfast.” She laughed, and Natsu let of his girlfriends hand, and dashed off somewhere quickly.

“I’ll be right back Luce! You know what I want.” She just shook her head.

“Everything alright Lucy?” Mira had begun preparing the meal. “You look a little down.”

“I’m perfectly fine. It’s just, Natsu’s acting a little bit strange today. He has been last night. I’m worried about him.” Mira held back a smile. She knew Natsu’s plan.

“I’m sure he’s just fine. Maybe he’s planning a prank of Grey again?” Lucy nodded, hoping it was nothing bad.

“I hope so. I don’t want him to get sick.” She sighed and Mira smiled as Natsu came running back. He still looked nervous, but seeing the down look on Lucy’s face made him worry.

“What’s wrong Luce? You shouldn’t be down right now! It’s the first day of the Sakura Festival, and you’ve never seen Magnolia’s before!” She grinned. Here she was, worrying about him and Natsu came along trying to cheer her up.

“It’s fine Natsu. I was just thinking. Eat your food with your mouth closed!” Lucy scolded, finding it easier than worrying. “Hey. Where’d you go off too?”

“Hmm?” The nervous expression came back. “I...uh...I pulled a prank of Grey.” Lucy sighed in relief.

“Mira was right...but I wonder why he was nervous about it? Is there a possibility it’ll hit Erza? If it does, I won’t have a boyfriend for much longer.” She laughed mentally. Soon enough, the guild began to fill with people. One of the Fairy Tail members was feeling brave and tried to hit on the pretty blonde.

“So. When are you gonna ditch Natsu and come have a drink with me, Lucy?” She didn’t want to be rude, but...she didn’t have the chance.

“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT! LUCY’S MINE BASTARDS!” Natsu yelled, punching him the face.

“Oi! You don’t have to get in his face, dear. I’m yours and you know it.” Natsu humphed, and dragged her out of the guild. Bastards kept trying to hit on her, even when they were dating. There was only ONE solution to this. Bisca didn’t get hit on, because of one reason.

“Come on Lucy. There’s somewhere I want to go.” Lucy looked at Natsu, surprised.

“H...Hey. You really don’t have to worry you know. I’m only yours.” She tried to reassure him as he pulled her along.

“I know.” He grinned childishly again. Her Natsu was back to the way he was before. “I just have a plan.” The perfect spring sun danced on the water as he pulled her off to the side of town, right under a nice Sakura tree.

“Natsu? What’s this?” But Lucy Heartfilia was shushed.

“I know we haven’t been going out long, but...but I feel like I’ve known you forever. I’m really not good at all this romantic sappy shit, so I’ll just say what’s on my mind. I love you, Lucy Heartfilia. Your my best friend, my girlfriend, my mate. And I’m selfish, so I’m tired of other guys hitting on you all the time. So, I realized something. There’s a good way to make that stop-make sure everyone knows  your mine.” He knelt to the ground, Lucy’s hands flew to her mouth. “Luce, will you marry me?” Tears were streaming down her face as she nodded, jumping of the kneeling Natsu.

“YES! Natsu! I didn’t know you were so good with words!” She grinned as he put the pretty stone on her finger. There was a simple iron band, with a pink stone cut into the shape of the Fairy Tail insignia on it. It was perfect.

“I had Gajeel make the band, and Mira helped me have the stone made.” He was grinning at how perfectly it fit. (Not in that way, perverts. )

“It’s...it’s beautiful.” She laughed off the tears, and the two of them sat underneath the blooming tree. Eventually, Lucy fell asleep in her boyfr-I mean fiancé's arms.
