Chapter 1 THE DEAL
"so here's the thing;
you can have your flings,
you can text them,
make out with them,
the hell you want to do with them and you will not hear a single word from me.
But there's one condition. You can never, ever feel or show any kind of jealousy when you see me with someone or it'll be the end for us. So is it a deal?"
What if you're in love with someone who is a certified Casanova.
He's a total gentleman, a sweet talker, handsome, smart and he loves you. But the thing is he's always seen with other girls. All of your friends think that you deserve someone better, someone more loyal yet you can't just leave him alone. Arguing with him is not even a good idea because every time you do, he can always find his way out and you fell for him even more.
I'm Monica Tan and the Casanova I've been talking about is my one and only boyfriend - Kang MinHyuk.
"What?? I can flirt with other girls as long as I don't get jealous, and you're ok with it?" He looks surprised with my proposal. But I just kept a straight face. I don't want to lose him but I'm too tired of all the other girls and his flirting, this has to end he doesn't want to break up with me either.
I hope he realizes something. I'm doing this not because I'm tired of him, but because I want him to realize what it feels like. Maybe someday he'll get jealous, someday he'll understand.
"Yes, you heard it right. So are you ok with it?" I tried to sound casual. He's now rubbing the back of his neck. He always does this every time he's unsure.
"You're not going to get mad at me, even if you see me flirting. Why??" Man, I gave you the liberty now but you look so unsatisfied.
"Why?? Do you prefer on breaking up with me? “Now I'm beginning to feel uneasy. What if he said yes? But I know this guy, I trust him. I know deep inside he loves me.
“No!! You know I love you and I'll always will. You don't have to do this. I know I've flirted sometimes but they're the ones who are at fault. “Wow, here we are again. Don't put up that innocent look at me. We've been together for 3 years. How many times do you actually think you've said that to me.
"I know so, is it a deal?"
"I won't cheat on you anymore. That's the deal" It's always like this, he can do the things he wanted while I always comply on him. Who can actually think that despite of his childish acts he's a certified chick magnet.
"Ok, but the moment that I see you flirting. That's the start of our deal, ok." Now I'll just have to wait for the cue. I know it won't be long. He's a girl magnet, sooner or later someone will get stuck to him.
"I said I won't right." He's assurance doesn't have any effect on me anymore.
I hate to think that I'm still here, holding his hand. Am I that stupid? I hope this arrangement may cause something to help the both us.
We're now leaving the cafe when his phone wrings.
"Uhmm. mynica.. I'll just answer this. Why don't you get inside the car first." He handed me the car keys. I was inside the car when I saw the cue I've been waiting for. I saw this girl with her arms wrapped around MinHyuk's waist. MinHyuk looks so nervous and kept on looking at my direction. I know he knows that I' can see them. He tried to remove the girl's arms but the girl is so persistent.
Don't worry my boyfriend, your girlfriends to the rescue is now coming for you. I’ve decided to approach them. As I got nearer to them I can hear them arguing.
"I have a girl friend ok" MinHyuk kept on struggling from the girl but the girl just won't give up.
"Liar, I know you're single. You don't have any proof." I think she's younger than me. Now MinHyuk where did you get her?
Now that I'm close enough to them, I just gave a big sigh.
"What are you staring at? Don’t tell me~" the girl looks at me from head to toe then to MinHyuk who just nods his head.
"Yes, I am." I walked straight between them and the girl immediately removed herself from MinHyuk.
"I told you I have one." MinHyuk now put his arms around my neck and smirked at the girl.
"Ow, he said he doesn't have one. I.. I.." The girl started to panic.
Now the game starts.
"I know. Don’t worry its ok. I just want to tell my boyfriend here that our deal starts now. You can have him." Then I walked inside the cafe again. It felt so tired just after I said those things. But I've had enough of everything. I've ordered for a bubble tea at the counter when I heard his footsteps getting near.
"Are you really serious back there?” I tried not to look at him and pretend to read the receipt the clerk just gave me.
"Yes, I am" I tried to ignore MinHyuk and walked passed him.
"Monica I know your mad. Admit it. This kind of deal doesn't suit you. Let's just stop this." Now what is he up to? I'm now heading out of the cafe and the girl earlier is still there.
"MinHyuk, I'm not." Just after I walked out the door, I approached the girl
"Miss, don't worry I'm not mad at you. Does he promise anything for you? “She looks so innocent and afraid as well.
"Yes, he said that we're going to watch movies last night." MinHyuk!!!!!!! Deep inside I'm very angry but I have to make this look like I don't care at all...
Last night, he told me that he's having an over time.
So she's his overtime.
"Monica, what..."
"MinHyuk, go take her." I handed him the car keys. I was to about to call a cab when he snatched my arm. It was a little bit forceful and I can tell that he's mad.
"Monica, what exactly do you want? Do you really think I will watch a movie with her?" He's tone is a bit harsh. I'm trying not to tremble or to cry. I'm always afraid of MinHyuk when he gets mad. He loses that childish charms of his and turned into someone that can make you tremble. This is the second time he got mad at me. The first one was when I tried to get home all by myself even if it’s past 12am.
"Like I said, the deal is on. Whether you take her or not, I don't care. I'll go first" As soon as I got in the cab, tears start to fall.
After I got home, I've receive a message from MinHyuk. It's a picture of him and the girl, “Watching movies, I know you don't mind" was captioned at the bottom of the picture. From that moment I want to throw the phone out of the window. But I can't, I'm too tired to even raise a finger. I headed to the bathroom and took a shower. I was drinking milk when another message was sent by him. This time he's in a club with another girl. Damn right he's enjoying himself. Text messages from my friends start to pile up. I just deleted them all because I already what it is.
Then my phone wrings
"Hello" ..
"Mynica, you're ok?" What a stupid question.
"Can't see why I'm not" - me
"Ok, just checking.. you rea-" -Minhyuk
Then I hang up.
My boyfriend, he's really stupid.
