My thoughts lie in mortally finite wait
On the horizon,
As my dreams cascade
Over hilltops,
And my words spill
Through canyons
And into valleys,
While my nervous soul laps
At water’s dancing edge.
I stare blankly into
Your wavering eyes,
Desperate for an answer
To the question of your care,
And realize if I leave today,
I will ruin our eternal yesterdays.
