Meeting the pack was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. They were full of kindness and laughter. I had never seen anyone with such a reputation be so accepting and wonderful. Lilith and her mate were the biggest power couple I had ever met and, by far, the most gorgeous couple I had ever seen. Lilith with her lightly tan skin and fiery pink hair stood with an arm around the goddess whose dark skin seemed to glow in contrast to her white shirt and black jeans. Her hair was some of the prettiest I had ever seen. It wasn't necessarily dreaded, but it was braided in a way that screamed beauty, and with the golden beads weaved in, she looked like a goddess from a movie.

Lilith walked toward me, and her eyes bore into mine like fire before she gave me the biggest grin I had ever seen. She looked like a wolf sizing up her prey, and I guess she was. "Sooo Ash is a cool name, don't you think, RaeRae?" I couldn't tell what her angle was yet, and I desperately wanted to be her friend, so I was just praying that she wasn't going to be mean to me.

"It's supes cute. So Ash, are you going to be joining us at the high school, or are you graduated?" I could tell Raelynn was trying to keep Lilith tamed from the stance between the two shifting as if she was trying to put distance between us. Not to mention the playful yet chiding glance she gave her mate.

"Um. I am not entirely certain. I am a junior, so I probably will come back as soon as possible just to avoid missing anything. Right now is the perfect time to go to a new school since it's only February."

"Oooo, I am a junior as well, so we might have some of the same classes, and I can show you around our school!" Raelynn was obviously very excited about my arrival, and as I was slightly worried that Lilith might not like me, she piped up.

"Hey, I am a junior, too, so Rae and I can show you to your classes, and you can sit with us at lunch. I know you will probably be wondering about my age, so before you can ask, I skipped a grade. I get that question a lot." She said with a wink towards me and a genuine smile.

"I would like that a lot. I never really have had friends, so I think this could be good for me." I wasn't sure if the conversation would continue for much longer, so I asked the safest question I could think of. "So how did you guys know each other before you were mates?"

"Well, I was dating one of the football players, and she was single and in a completely different social group than me. I think we may have had one or two classes together, but we never talked." Raelynn looked like the girl to date the head quarterback, not Lilith, so this surprised me more than I would like to admit. But I of all people should know not to judge one for what their skin looks like.

I couldn't tell you what compelled me to ask the next question, especially when I would never understand that feeling. "Is it like what they talk about? The mating bond I mean or is overrated?"

"It's the craziest thing you will ever feel in your life honestly. Like I'm completely in tune with Lilith's moods, and I can talk to her mind to mind like it is when you talk to your wolf. And even now, the love just continues to grow, and I can't fathom it stopping. It's less like the sparks they talk about after a while and more like a warm hand holding yours after you've spent all day in the cold. It just fills your soul. Plus," she leaned in and with a wink said, "the sex never stops being great."

I could see how playfully horrified Lilith was and let out a laugh and shook my head. "Well it was really nice talking to you guys, and I hope we can be friends, but I should probably go find your brother." They said goodbye, and I walked away, trying to find the only person I feel comfortable with.

As I was walking towards the group, I presumed Julius was in when I got stopped by someone who looked vaguely familiar, yet I couldn't pinpoint from where.
