Seven p.m.
It was already that late and he wasn't home yet. Mike never said that he would be working this late. [F/n] knew the women that worked in Mike's office. They were whores. She was scared that Mike was cheating on her. Yeah, there are prettier girls out there. There are other women that could satisfy him better than she could. The [e/c] eyed girl sighed. She had made dinner in hopes of Mike coming home at his usual time. She made his favorite, homemade lasagna. She spent hours making the pasta herself and then perfecting everything else. The meal was put into the fridge to be warmed up for tomorrow.

[F/n] waited a couple more minutes and finally decided to go to sleep. She brushed her teeth, changed into her pajamas and laid in the bed staring at the ceiling. Fidgeting with keys could be heard at the front door. A tall sandy headed man opened the door. His tie was messed up and there were red smudges all over his neck. [F/n] pretended to sleep.
Mike flicked the light switch to his shared room with his girlfriend on.
He saw her resting figure and immediately felt guilt pang in his stomach. He shouldn't have done it. The green eyed man sat down on his side of the bed. He sighed and began to remove his blazer and white button-up. She peeped her eyes open, scratches ran up and down his back. Fingernails, she thought to herself. It obviously hurt her deeply but she didn't show, she was "sleeping".

Mike finally changed into some sweats and laid down facing his oblivious girlfriend. He shouldn't have done it. He knows he could have stopped himself-- but he didn't. [F/N] waited until she though he was asleep. She quickly slipped out of bed. She didn't want to believe it. He's not cheating, he's not cheating, he's not cheating, she repeated to herself. Mike's eyes popped open. She didn't notice.

"Where are you going?" His tired voice asked.
She didn't respond. She stood in the doorway facing away from him. "Where are you going?" He repeated.

"You're cheating on me aren't you?"

This time he didn't respond. She turned to face him, tears threatening to fall down her cheeks. He sat up. "I--I didn't mean to."
[F/n] wiped her eyes and glared at Mike. "How many times?" She asked. "I didn't mean to! She practically threw herself at me!" Mike retorted. "How many times?!" She asked, harshly this time. He looked down, "Three," he muttered.
By the time he brought his head back up she was packing a suit case. "Where are you going?" He asked, distress was apparent in his tone. "Somewhere." She replied solemnly. "Please don't do this." He he stood and walked over to her. "Please don't do this?!" She mimicked. He tried to wrap his arms around her, but she pushed him away. "You should've though about this when you fucking cheated on me!"

[F/n] grabbed her bag and her purse. "Dinner's in the fridge. Savor it because it's the last food of mine that you'll eat." She started walking to the front door. The cat purred at her feet. She picked up the cat as Mike began to follow her.
Tears still streamed down her face as she opened the front door. "Where are you going to go?" He asked, obviously worried for her.
"It's none of your concern. It's not like you care anyway." Thunder rolled in the distance.
She walked out of the door. "[F/n], please!" Mike called after her.

"No Mike! Fuck you and this promise ring!" [F/n] threw the diamond encrusted silver band into the garden.  Mike was visibly hurt, tears streamed down his face as he watched his love get in her car and drive away. Heavy drops of rain pattered down, but Mike sat on the steps. He sighed and let the rain soak his hair and his sweats as he lamented his awful decisions. He fell asleep on the porch, the cold rain continued for a while and then stopped.

--

Mike was still on the steps in the morning. He finally woke up, his pants were soaking. After realizing what happened the previous night he went into the empty house and took a hot shower. She was right, that cold lasagna just might be the last of her cooking that he'll ever taste. He laid about for the rest of the day reading her books, wearing the shirts that she stole from him, laying with her pillow and engulfing what was left of her scent.

»Three days later«

[F/n] laid on her big brother's couch. Her dreams were plagued with Mike's face. The cat cuddled up with her. She decided it was finally time to go home and apologize to Mike. "Hey Mark? I'm going home!" She called into the house. "Alright, bye, love you sis!" Her brothers voice replied. "Bye love you too." She said before picking up her cat and shutting the door. It was a two hour drive back home, but [F/n] managed the ride.

She searched in the flower bed for the ring. She immediately felt guilty about everything that she said. The [e/c] eyed girl slipped the ring back on her finger and went inside. Everything was quiet. She sat the cat down and looked inside her room. A sleeping figure lay on her side of the bed, surrounded by her books, and holding what looked to be her pillow. "Mike?" She whispered. [F/n] walked around to the other side of the bed and laid down. She moved the books aside so she could scoot closer. Her delicate hands moved the hair from Mike's eyes. "Mike?" She asked again. He stirred, his nose twitched. His eyes opened. "[f/n]..?" Mike's hoarse voice spoke.

"Michael." She smiled and cupped his cheeks, it was obvious that he hadn't shaved. Tears streamed down her face as she kissed him.
