Violet Cage slammed a thick book that talked about Greek mythology shut in irritation, the loud noise causing the middle aged librarian with thick glasses that didn't quite fit her face at the front desk to look up for a second at the stressed seventeen year old before back down at her keyboard, thinking that she was just some kid getting frustrated in her early studies before the first day of school the next day.

Violet's best friend, who sat in front of her with a just as thick and vague book, looked up, blinking her exhaustion away rapidly as she watched her snatch her light bag up violently before making her way out of the library that was almost empty, not that it was ever crowded anyways.

Allison Argent followed in pity, but didn't show it on her face when she walked out of the automatic doors and saw Violet in the drivers seat with her hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly that the moonlight caught the whiteness on her knuckles, caught the confusion in her friend's gray-green eyes that were always big no matter what emotion she was caught in.

When Allison got in the passengers seat, Violet backed out of her parking spot and onto the empty road.

It was silent for a few minutes, the only sound breaking the air being the engine until Violet said, "Four hours of looking through tens of books and nothing. Absolutely nothing."

Allison, again, hid her pity as she looked over towards the raven haired girl who was trying to get everything in her life in order but in the last two years, it seemed like her life would forever be a constant reminder that she wasn't normal. Violet didn't know what she was, but she knew that ever since Peter had attacked her, somehow gotten into her mind and made her bring him back from a temporary death, and seen her cousin save a kanima, she knew she was something and it was killing her to not know what that something was.

"We'll figure it out, V. We always do."

Violet looked over at Allison for a second and nodded to herself before back at the blank road, letting out a deep breath and relaxing her tight grip on the steering wheel.

She pushed her frustration to the back of her mind and, again, glanced over at Allison with a small smile on her face, "So," her eyebrows rose teasingly. "How're the French guys?"

Allison threw her head back and laughed for a few seconds, blushing and shaking her head with her lips pushed tightly together to try and not smile.

Violet's eyebrows rose again, "Are you avoiding the question? Maybe something did happen..." Violet trailed off teasingly, making a left turn before speaking over Allison's laughs again. "Let's see, Was he a painter? I bet he offered to do a portrait of you, complimented how beautiful and gorgeous you were while glancing over the canvas at you seductively," she looked back at the girl in the passenger seat and bit her lip dramatically making the hunter slap Violet's arm as their laughs eased into a quiet sigh.
