..... That's when I felt a small tap on my shoulder.
"Excuse me, Carter?"
I turned around and saw the weird boy that seemed to be everywhere.
"Who are you?" I asked. "Why do you keep following me?"
The boy seemed to be a little taken aback when I asked him these direct questions.
"I'm not following you." He said. "I'm Will. I saw what happened with your dress and everything."
"Oh, so you're here to make fun of me?" I said rudely.
"Uh, no, uh..."
"Ugh. I'm sorry Will. I'm just a little disappointed, that's all." I apologized. Then I looked up at him. He had shaggy blonde hair, brown eyebrows, and squinty blue eyes. I recognized him from somewhere, but I wasn't sure where. "Do I know you from somewhere?" I asked. "I mean, other from everywhere around here."
"Yeah, well actually, that's why I'm here. Like, it's not the whole entire reason I'm here, but that's why I'm talking to you. We went to French Summer camp together for three years straight. At the university."
That did it. I remembered him more clearly now. When I was younger, JoJo wanted me to be in French, but when she wanted me to, I was in grade three, and the kids in the French program at school had all probably been in French since kindergarten, so she put me in French camp in the summer. It was the same for Will. I met him there, and we were the greatest friends. We'd always hang out. We were besties. That's how I met Lissy. By the beginning of grade four, I was as advanced in the French program as half the other kids. Lissy had been in French since kindergarten. We started to hang out a lot more. When the time came for French camp after grade four, Lissy's mom and JoJo had worked out that Lissy would come with me to French camp. She did. We grew closer together, and Will and I grew further apart. Then, the last day of French camp, Will had to go early. He came up to me and told me this: "I'm moving to America. My dad got transferred there. There is a shortage of doctors right now, and he needs to fill in. Bye." He said. I was so sad. That was like the time when my dog died. I hadn't spent much time with her, because we already had a different dog, and when she died, I was devastated, and didn't forgive myself for not paying any attention to her. I spent the rest of the time that Will had in Canada together. And I haven't seen him since, until today.
"Will! Oh my gosh! How are you doing? I haven't seen you in so long!" I stood up and gave him a hug. "Oops, sorry." I said, forgetting that my dress was still stained with punch.
"Good, thanks." He said quietly. He didn't talk too much, and when he did, he was so quiet.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "Did your dad get transferred back?"
"Yeah." He said.
"Awesome! So are you going to Munroe Junior High now?"
"Yeah." He said.
"Cool. Cool." I nodded my head.
"Wanna go to Tim's?" I asked.
"Tim's?" He questioned.
"You know. Tim's. Tim Hortons." I said.
"Oh. Ya okay." He said. I retrieved my winter clothes from the coat room and we walked out of the door together.

I carried my hot chocolate to our table for two and sat down. Will made circles in his cup with a spoon.
