For Chi, kasi madali akong kausap.

He's perched atop the huge rock where they sat most afternoons, watching the sun bid the earth goodbye. Everything around him is quiet now, the almost inaudible crashing of the waves, even the gentle rustling of leaves, seem to know how low he is feeling.

As darkness claim what little light there is, he jumps down to head back to his villa. As he did, his right foot touches the edge of a clear bottle. He picks it up and peers closely - a scrap of rolled of paper is inside. As soon as he sees it, he immediately knew it was for him.

After unrolling the piece of paper with shaky hands, he begins to read:

My dearest Chard---

For eight sunsets, I sat by this very spot. For eight sunsets, I waited for you.

On the ninth, I realized, hindi ko pala dapat ginawa yun. Hindi pala ako dapat naghintay.

I shouldn't have waited.

Dapat pala sumunod ako.

I shouldn't have allowed you to cry on your own; to go through all the pain alone.

I should have shared all that with you.

So kung wala man ako dito ngayon, please know na hindi ako umalis. Hindi kita iniwan.

I went home - to you.

And just like the way that you found this letter, YOU WILL FIND ME.

I am where your heart is, Chard.

---Maine

P.S.

Have I ever told you I Love You? Because I do.
