Chapter 14: Away Game Part 2"Save me a seat!" Kadirah yelled as Donovan and Kiera bolted towards the back of the coach, they were the first ones to get on and I laughed at the door waiting for coach Carter to find my name on the list and tick me off.
It was finally game time and everyone was overly excited. A long line of the varsity football team and those who were allowed to come and watch stretched from the front of the coach all the way to the back. Other students who were leaving school for the day stopped and crowded the parking lot chanting songs to lift spirits and getting their last motivational words in before we had to leave and get on the road.
Once our names had been ticked off, Kadirah and I charged for the back of the bus and I exploded with laughter when Kadirah's shoe flew off her foot behind her and she had to go back and get it, loosing the seat she wanted to sit at.
"Y'all some bitches!" She whined while holding her shoe in her hand as she trudged back down the narrow aisle. Chris had taken her seat and Kadirah poked her tongue out at him in her passing and sat in the aisle beside us.
"You snooze, you loose" Kiera laughed.
The current seating situation was Kiera and I sitting next to each other and opposite us was Donovan and Chris sitting in front of me. There was a table in front of us allowing Donovan to put his gym bag on it and anyone who wanted to fall asleep on this long journey was free to lay their heads.
Caleb, Tristan and Cody began walking down the aisle, loud and boisterous cramming into the aisle beside us paying no attention to Kadirah and barging into her. Caleb squished himself between Kadirah and the window side. "Hey! Can't you see I'm sitting here you dick!"
"I want the window seat, scoot over!" After sulking, Kadirah slid over to the aisle seat and Caleb was now sitting next to the window with Tristan and Cody sitting opposite. I leaned forward and laughed once I seen Kadirah's glum expression.
"Lighten up" I joked and Kadirah glanced at me with an annoyed expression.
"I'm sitting with these jerks, it's impossible. How about we swap seats so you can sit with ya man and get ya mack on" Kadirah sneered raising her eyebrow at me with a tight smirk.
Seven pairs of eyes were now boring into mine and I blushed, leaning back into the headrest and staring out of the window, my face now red with embarrassment.
"Fuck you, Kadirah" I hissed.
Kadirah laughed loudly. "Sorry hun, I don't swing that way. Strictly dickly" everyone groaned at her comment and I mimicked what she said in a higher octave before poking my tongue out at her.
"Wait you date her?" Caleb asked Cody, giving him a quizzical gaze and pointing his thumb towards me before bursting into fits of laughter.
Everyone looked towards Cody waiting for a response, even I was staring him down waiting for what he was going to say. He looked at me and smirked. "Nah I don't ... Not yet anyway"
"Oh come one man, I knew you wanted a girl but you didn't tell me you was desperate" Caleb face twisted into disgust and I glared at him.
"Wow Caleb, Desperate? Weren't you the same dude who fucked his best friend's girl, or am I confusing you with some other hoebag?"
Caleb leaned back in his seat at a loss of words and Cody laughed pulling Caleb's hood over his head.
Chris let out a low chuckle. I glanced towards him only to see that he was already looking at me, an amused expression forming his features. Cody leaned forward and the brawny teen glared at Chris. "Something funny?"
