It was raining. A lot.
I decided the day before the most effective way to rescue Daniel was direct confrontation.
“The accused has, among other things, attempted to assassinate Mr. Covmann and must be shot until dead by firing squad.” A man in a red and black uniform was looking rather miserable in the rain as he read Covmann’s orders.
I knew I had to ask fast when they brought Daniel out or it would be too late. As he walked slowly down the aisle, a hint of recognition flashed across his face. I disappeared into the crowd and picked up a rock. I threw it hard, and it hit a commander in the jaw. When the guard leading Daniel went to help the commander, Daniel had his chance. I knew what would happen, and I had every intention of joining him, so I readied my MP445. I counted twenty-two C.R.E.W. members in the crowd. Daniel grabbed the guard’s gun and shot the three guards near him. The civilians started to scatter and the C.R.E.W. members started pulling out their M41As. I grabbed the nearest member and used his body as a shield and took his gun in one hand and my pistol in the other and gunned them down. We killed all of them
