Numerous gunshots echoed throughout the streets. Stray bullets ricocheted off the cars and buildings in the vicinity. They were closing in. Fast. Sub-Machine guns were snuggly strapped across their bodies. Various grenades lined their waist and black Kevlar suits covered their upper body.
My ears had been buzzing since the first bullet was fired. On the street, Flynn and Keira hid behind the cover of our broken-down van. I tightened my grip upon the jammed sniper rifle and cursed under my breath. Empty magazines littered the rooftop. Every step they took, advancing upon my friends, the more helpless I felt.
Everything was going fine just days ago...
