Do not paint us red because our skin is simply brown.
To the ones who's skin is tan.
Do not discriminate against me simply because my skin may be as dark as the soil my ancestors once worked in.
When our skeletons are the same milky white.
To the ones who bear arms.
Do not point a gun towards me simply because my Latina roots burn fierce.
A flag dyed red, white, and blue sits in a grey area.
Land of the free, or land of the not yet United?
Home of the brave, when most live in fear.
