The Beginning Of The End

Chapter 3

"Your father, a great man, but not from this world and one of the last of his kind. That is why the Syphons want him and his research. They want the power and the brains. They never have had any. They are a conquering race, the Syphons. Horrific. Known for killing and conquering. Your fathers is from a race called the Tografess. The peace-keepers of the 2 Galaxy's. The Milky way (ours) and Andromeda (theirs). The Tografess have well, powers. Those powers most likely have been passed on to you children. Which makes you a danger to the Syphons and also a blessing to them. They now know who you are, what Robin and Artemis looks like, and where you are. They are going to try flush you out, capture you, and most likely experiment on you. I am doing everything in my power to save you and protect you but it might not be enough. Come."

We follow mother through the house to her room. She presses a button on the edge of her chest of drawers. A slight sound and then she abruptly turns and proceeds to the mirror. The mirror had turned around to reveal a big, scary red button that says 'DO NOT PRESS!' She did exactly that. Mother slid her thumb around the edge of the big, threatening button. There is a click and the button flips and a tiny, grey button is underneath it and she presses it. The bed flips up to reveal a trapdoor. She opens it and ushers us inside. One inside, a green light scans our faces. Facial recognition. A cool voice enters the room. Recognised: Kathleen-030, Artemis-01, Robin-03, Aria-06. a wall slides up to reveal a awesome room. A high tech room. Our mother shuts the door behind us, strides over to the massive computer section of the room and puts a screen up to watch Tom, Mara, Natalie, Jake, Bob and Peter.

"Ok, this is the secret HQ of our family. There is one in all the households of the Tografess. On Earth and on Tograf. The Tografess have the many powers. Water, Fire, Shapeshifting, The ability to move objects, They are super fast, Super strong and many more. We don't know what powers you children posses or how many you have."

"So why has dad been like away all the time!" exclaimed Aria.

Our mother sighs, " He has been working. To protect you, he didn't come near you. His work consists of all the planet details, the world, and a few more valuable things. He worked with 2 others. No idea what their names are though."

Our mother picked up a cardboard roll and handed it to me.

"It is time. If I perish, you must take the others to safety. A place other than here. Lie low and attack the Syphons when they least expect it. Gather all the Tografess and attack together. This path may be a dangerous one, but it is more dangerous staying here and risking the Syphons coming back for you. "

"What if its too late. How do we get out?"

"There is another secret hatch, in my room. You'll know where it is when you need it, use that to go far away."

"Can we find out our powers now?"

"Your training starts tomorrow. Go get a goodnight sleep."

The next day, we had a quick breakfast, and then we all go to our mothers room. She shepherds us to the secret HQ. She turns on the power generator and a wall slides down to reveal a training room.

"We are going to start with level one. One at a time. Artemis, you go first."

I line up on the starting platform. My mother starts the test. I have 10 seconds to run to the end wall. Just made it. Ok, next. I turn to my left. A massive pillar is slowly coming down. I frantically look around. I see a stable bar. It is a rough guess but I think I can make it. I have to chance it. I jump. I feel the bar in my hands. I heave myself on top of the bar and look around. I need to get to the finish platform. I see it. A tunnel. I need to reach it. I almost go to jump but I stop myself on the edge. I need to make it! I Centre myself, and take the jump.

I feel the cool metal of the inside of the tunnel. I made it! I slide down it. As I near the bottom, I put my feet to the floor. I reach the very end of the tunnel. I push with my feet and I soar through the air. As I am flying through the air, I attempt a front flip. I successfully forefill it and land it.

"Well, that was fun," I exclaimed.

I head out if the training room. I hear my mother calling Robin to the starting platform. The buzzer goes and off he goes. I get a drink of water, and go to watch.

After a long but fun day, we head back up to the house and we have our showers. When in the kitchen getting a late night snack, mother starts to talk.

"Well done today. You all did really well. I can't tell you what powers you have but you all have at least one. You need to work out how to use these powers yourself........"
