1 WEEK LATER
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I run down the long corridor to the infirmary, where Aria is. I hope she recovered from her illness. I knock on the door and it slides open. Aria walks out and gives m a big hug.
"Hello Artemis. Did you like my 1 week recovery."
"You were lucky for a recovery that quick," I say in a stern voice.
"Come on, I can leave here now. I am all better."
"If you say so."
We walk to the kitchen to eat breakfast. We cook our breakfast and sit down at a round table to eat. We get interrupted by an announcement. We are to go to the lounge room.
"Hey, whats up?" I say to Robin, who just walked in.
"Nothing. Why are we here?"
"I dunno."
"Where is Steve."
"Check the briefing room," I say.
"No need. He's here."
Robin strides over to Steve.
"An army has attacked a town, our town. We have to go help. NOW!"
"No, we don't. One army has a thousand men, all of us put together, there is 24. It's not happening."
Fine, I do it the hard way. I run to my quarters and change into my black cargo pants, black t-shirt and pull on my black jumper. I braid my hair down my left shoulder and pull over a plain, black beanie. My black sneakers stare at me, I stare back. Do I really want to do this? Desert my kin to find a friend. If I get caught, there is no going back. I decide. My sneakers go on my feet and my utility belt gets slung over my shoulder and buckled together and I leave. The corridors race past me as I sprint past them and the pounding of my feet echo down the long, empty halls.
