Untitled September
(A Couplet Poem)
This poem was actually inspired by an incident that took place during the month of September 2012. Supposed to be a happy day but it turned out that people who support you are the ones that will pull you down.
I went to our yearly studio tour, wherein we visit some of the TV stations here in our country. When I was going home, I got stuck froma a place that is really far from my house because of the flood in the streest created by the heavy rain. I got no money left. So, I decide to text my dad to pick me up.
Hours of waiting for him, he didn’t came. I didn’t knew he was also stuck in traffic. So, I decided to walk until I reach my house. I continue walking until the blood in my feet covers my nails. I also fell into a small sewer.
I was all wet and when I came home I started crying. I felt so ashamed, tired, and helpless. Hours later, my dad came back in our house. I told him what happened and the only thing he said was “Ang tanga mo naman!” (You’re so stupid!) Instead of saying, “Are you okay? What happened to you?”. I felt worse about myself.
So, here it is, the poem I created from the pain I got:
“Untitled September”
I was about to go home
I texted you on my phone
I started walking all alone
Feeling the tensions in my bone
I continued to take a step
Self-doubts that I kept
Falling down the sewerage
My father shows his rage
I surpassed the flood
I almost cried with blood
Wet in water and mud
And it just made you mad
Walk a hundred miles
Tears are like corrupted files
Dying when a foot is raised
Being hopeless has now been placed
You didn’t show any compassion
Burst all of your agression
Your cannonball being fired
Can you see I’m very tired?
Survived a shallow hope
Scolded me like a brand new pope
I take all the pain, shame and suffering
But not your pointless anger that is suffocating
BINABASA MO ANG
Motionless While The World Turns
PoesíaThis is a collection of poems that I created during the time that I had the biggest downfalls in my life.
