Chapter 12

(Btw this is how I mostly pictured it the house, I know they live in Seattle but I tried to keep it within reason but yeah. This almost exactly how I pictured it, and I love it. Officially this isn't my pic, rights to the person who took it. I tried to edit pics of how the people looked at the party but I ended up with nothing good Idk how this shows up on mobile and stuff but the pic is in the middle for me)

I knocked on the door to my mom's room, and heard the faint ok to come in. I pushed the door open, and stepped over the pile of clothes, and a pair of shoes. It was normal for her room to be a mess, being an English professor at the local private school had its pros and cons.

"So mom, do you mind if-" I cut off as I saw my mom, red around the eyes, hair a mess. "-why aren't you getting ready? I thought you had class this morning.." I take a seat at the end of her bed.

"I did, I canceled. I'll be there this afternoon though, what did you need?" my mom forces a smile.

"That can wait. What's going on with you?" I ask, moving to sit by her. My mom sighs, and turns toward me.

"You know me better than anyone else, including your father." My mom smiles a little. " Let me tell you something about boys. Some boys seem like they are all in it for the long run, and they act like they care about you-truth is most of the time they don't. Don't fall for it. Now there is some guys who might treat you right, and you have got to hang on to that. Never let that go, or let anyone get in the way of it, no matter who they are." My mom smiles a little as I try to understand all this.

"You'll understand what I am saying when it happens, and hopefully I'll be there with you." My mom smiles and hugs me, kissing the top of my head. "Now what did you want now?"

"Mandy? Hello, earth to Mandy!" Will's voice snapped me out of my daydream/memory. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, fine. Just dozing off." I force a smile. "So what were you saying?"

"I was saying, I just text my mom and came up with some excuse about how all of us got together and watched a movie at Jordans, and just woke up. She totally bought it." Will nods, and continues. "And she replied with how her and dad went out of town for the camping thing, something about how we stress them out and they wanted to enjoy the nice weather. So they come back tomorrow afternoon. I was thinking pool party" Will has a huge grin on his face, and I could tell he already has put this plan into action.

"Like a couple of friends or the whole gang or a party?" I turn to face him, "and if we are throwing a party then we need music, food, and since when do people have pool parties in Seattle?"

"Since its decent outside, and we have a pool. People are bringing snacks, and we can order out. " Will says, going back to his phone. "So go get dressed and meet me downstairs." Will hands the driver a twenty and steps out onto the driveway, walking up to the house. I sigh and get out and follow him.

"Are you almost ready Mandy?!? People are going to be showing up soon!" Will yelled up the stairs. I sigh and adjust my bathing suit one last time, and tighten my already to-tight ponytail and open my door.

"It literally took me ten minutes to get ready. I see you're still not ready." I find Will sitting at the island, a few bowls of chips and other snacks laid out in front of him.

"Your clock must be of because it was closer to half an hour." Will pushes off his chair, and opens his arms, showing off his swim trunks and flipflops. He had a little smirk on his face, but I fold my arms over my chest and try to mimic his smirk.
