enjoy this chapter preface thingy.

I know it's short. Sorry?

“Vic saw her then. She was talking to one of her friends. She had vibrant red hair—it couldn’t be natural—that was hanging down her back in soft, loose waves. She was speaking animatedly, he noticed, using her hands and everything. She had (or what looked like, from Vic’s view) green eyes. As he squinted to see better, Vic noticed she had freckles dotting her nose and forehead. She was wearing a dark blue bikini, it had white polka dots all over it. She was pale, but it suited her. Vic’s eyes trailed up and down her body, taking in her flat stomach and perfectly shaped legs.

He was immediately infatuated by her.”

I clenched my teeth. She’s mine. Liv is mine. No one else is allowed to have her, not even Vic, the “hero” of the book.

Or something like that.

“Zayn!” My head snapped up to the sound of my name being called. There was Liam, his head poking out the sliding glass door. I had been sitting under a tree in our backyard, reading my favorite book A Mid-Summer’s Dream.

Yes, I know it’s a girly book. And yes, I know it’s a romance.

Which is rather unfortunate, seeing as I get jealous very easily. Vic’s not allowed to touch Liv. Liv belongs to me.

“Zayn,” Liam said again, but this time he was standing right in front of me. “Lunch is ready, man.”

“Okay,” I replied smoothly, folding down the corner of the page I was on.

I couldn’t help but grit my teeth as I read the line over again.

“He was immediately infatuated by her.”
