Harry vs Edward
Harry started out as a small boy, who had his parents killed in front of him. He never remembered that because he was 1 (or close to it anyway) and was forced to grow up with non magical relatives.
Edward never went through anything as traumatic as that, and he already knew who he was. He found Bella (more on her later) and decided 'hey, I like this person who isn't a vampire. I'm going to watch her in her sleep!' I'm not sure about you, but none of my friends, that have crushes, would think about doing that. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's called breaking and entering. Sure, Harry broke some school rules, only because he had to, but he didn't commit a crime that he could be punished for. The patronis was in self defense, and he saved Hogwarts many, many times. Edward obsessed over an 18 year old girl, and putting her life at risk because of his selfish desires. Even the actor who played Edward admitted he had more fun playing Cedric in HP, than Edward. Harry was forced into this situation, he never wanted to be the chosen one, and he never wanted his parents dead. Also, with out us knowing, JKR taught us about the multi worlds theory (video above).
