"No way. You are not taking the Hunter Exam." Mr. Nagito shakes his head.

"But why not?" I whine. There's no good reason why I shouldn't! It'll open more opportunities.

"Because I can't be there with you. I already have my Hunter's License." Mr. Nagito explains.

"So? I know Nen, and I've gotten considerably stronger. I can pass!" I argue, rolling my eyes.

"No means no." He shakes his head. He can't control me, I'm an adult!

"Besides, we'll need some money if we want to track Ging down." I point out.

"That's true." He admits.

"Yeah!" I grin hopefully. Maybe I'm getting through to him!

"But the answer is still no." He says firmly. I sigh.

"Fine." I give in, standing up from the table.

"See? You aren't qualified to take the Hunter Exam if you give up so easily." He laughs. WHAT?!

"Are you serious?! We've been arguing for hours!" I complain.

"Stop whining. Let's just go to sleep and I'll think about it." Mr. Nagito gives in and I silently cheer as I walk to my room. "The answer will still probably be no." I hear him call out and I sigh defeatedly. Mr. Nagito sure is stubborn!

We're at the site of where the Hunter Exam is supposed to be. It looks like it's in a bar. I'm supposed to walk in, and order a vodka with two lemons. The bartender will ask to make it five and I will accept.

"Now remember. Don't trust anyone. And make sure to pass, or no food for you when you get home." He says the last part teasingly but I nod my head. He may be teasing, but I don't doubt that he'll do it. Besides, I love food.

"Alright!" I say determinedly and walk up to the bar.

"Good luck!" Mr. Nagito calls out. I stop at the door and turn my head around.

"And Mr. Nagito, thank you. Thank you for everything." I grin and he gives me a thumbs up.

"Just make sure not to fail or I'll starve you!" He says in a happy voice. I shiver to myself and walk in. What a bipolar old man! I walk up to the bar.

"Hello, miss. What would ya like?" The bartender asks me. He's bald with an orange mustache, dressed in a suit and tie.

"I'd like a vodka with two lemons, please." I say and the bartender narrows his green eyes.

"Would you like to make it five?" He asks me. I nod.

"Yes please." I say.

"Are you sure?" He asks. I nod. "We seem to have run out of stock. Maybe I can suggest something else. Right this way please." He leads me into a back room and an elevator. "Good luck. You're gonna need it." He winks and I nod and smile. My heart beats faster. This is it! I'm so excited!

"That's very kind of you." I thank him and the elevator closes. I quietly wait as the elevator descends. This is it. After I get this license, I'll be able to track Ging freely. The elevator opens to reveal a small green man handing out name tags. Wait, I know him. Beans! "Beans!" I grin, walking up to him. He looks at me in surprise.

"Mrs. Gina?!" He gapes at me. I nod.

"Yes, it's me!" I smile, taking the tag he hands to me. Number 27. I'm surprised! I got here early!

"You're alive!" Beans exclaims.

"Yes, I know! How crazy is that?!" I laugh. Beans laughs too. He looks so happy.

"You have no idea! Ging was so upset after he told us what happened. He didn't want to accept you were dead, but Menchi made him. The chairman told him too. I've never seen Ging cry before." Beans explains. I feel my heart growing warm.  He cried...over me? Gung never cries! I only saw a single tear when our son was born. i'm "He'll be so excited when I tell him! The chairman too! Everyone will!" Beans grins.

"Oh, please don't tell him. I want it to be a surprise." I say determinedly. Beans nods approvingly. "By the way, do you know where he is?" I ask.

"No, I'm sorry. I'm sure the chairman does though. You can ask him. All you've got to do is make it to the final stage of the Exam and you can talk to him." Beans sighs. I nod.

"It's alright. It only gives me more of a reason to finish the Exam. Thank you, Beans. It's great to see you again!" I smile and walk off. I wait until more contestants arrive. Beans announces the end of arrival and suddenly, an examiner appears. He's very strong and has thick blond hair and blue eyes. He's also got a thick mustache.

"HELLO EVERYONE! I AM ROCK. I AM YOUR FIRST EXAMINER!" He bellows. I cover my ears. He really doesn't need to be that loud! "PLEASE FOLLOW ME!" He yells and starts walking through a large hallway. I follow him and the pace accelerates bit by bit.

"Damn. I don't know if I can continue like this." Someone next to me swears. I look over to see a girl with long blonde hair tied up in a ponytail and blue eyes running next to me. She looks around my age.

"Keep going! You can do it!" I cheer her on.

"Thanks." She smiles.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"I'm Bianca! What's yours?" She grins and points to herself.

"I'm Gina. It's nice to meet you!" I smile.

"It's always great to meet a new friend! So, what's your story? I don't see many girls around..." Bianca asks. I tell her everything. I probably shouldn't, but she seems trustworthy. "Woah, your past is rough!" She exclaims and I smile uncomfortably, unsure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.

"Well, I come from a poor family. We never had that much money and we all had to work for our lives. My dad was a failing inventor, which my mom always yelled at him for. She and I could never understand why. With his skills, he could have made a good amount of money. And yet, still he chose to pass up a shot at a good, stable job. Mom worked day an night to support us. She was a seamstress. But one night, I guess she overworked herself. She collapsed right in front of us. She never woke up again. And then, because we had no source of money to pay rent, we were kicked out of our home. Dad never could support us. And that's why I'm here! I'm going to get my Hunter's license and make tons of money!" Bianca tells me.

"Your story is so sad!" I say. She shrugs.

"It's all in the past. You learn fast on the streets. Move on or get left behind." Bianca explains.

"WE'RE HERE. YOU MUST CLIMB TO THE TOP TO PASS THE FIRST STAGE!" Our examiner starts climbing. I stare at the gigantic rock wall in front of me. This is going to be hard!
