Chapter 3

"You do realise that it's not gonna be that simple right?" Rebel asked her twin brother, still trying to wrap her head around the idea.

"Rebel is right, we can't just walk out and skip to the job." Nashi stated, clearly as worried as Rebel.

Riot sighed, "Of course I know all of that! We'll speak to the master and be on our way by tomorrow." He said in a nonchalant tone, annoying Rebel beyond belief.

How could he be so casual and calm about something like this?! How could he even suggest this in the first place. Rebel was used to her brother being rash occasionally and doing whatever it takes to get their team stronger, but this was on a whole new level.

"You do realise that master Makarov isn't the problem here right?" Silver asked, his smooth voice snapping Rebel out of her thoughts. She looked at the raven haired boy and waited for him to expand.

"Well, the biggest problem right now, is our parents." He continued, visibly cringing.

Rebel, Nashi and Riot all flinched in unison, letting the sudden obstacle in their path take full effect.

After a few seconds of silence, Riot cleared his throat, "Well, all we have to do is ask right? It's not like they don't trust us..."
Rebel scoffed, "They don't trust us! Remember the last time we went on a long job?"
All four of them flinched again, recalling the damage and injury they caused in that poor little town that was now off the map completely.
"That was a one time thing!" Riot exclaimed, hoping to defend them from themselves.
"There was also the time before tha-" Nashi started, but stopped herself, apparently thinking better of bringing that up.

"Well I guess we have to try." Silver said, suddenly leaning heavily on Rebel. Rebel glanced at him and smiled to herself, by the looks of it, he had no idea what he was doing.
"THANK YOU!" Riot yelled happily, glad that he was finally getting some support.

"Just wait until our folks get here and we ask. Rebel and Nashi can even throw in some tears."
Rebel kicked her brother under the table, smirking when he yelped in pain, "Why don't you bring out the water works uh? I'll even make sure that the tears are genuine"

"Damn you're scary.." Silver whispered in Rebel's ear, making her jump a bit. He chuckled and sat back up straight and Rebel instantly felt herself turn bright red. She hated that he had that effect on her and she hated it even more because he knew it.

"So we're really gonna do this?" Nashi asked, a hint of excitement slipping into her tone.
Riot nodded, "Damn straight."

Riot was starring at the entrance anxiously, his parents should be arriving soon and he couldn't wait to ask, although he was terrified of the answer, knowing full well that the team had never actually proven themselves. But it was now or never he decided a while ago, he knew each member and their capabilities so he was absolutely certain that they could handle a S Class Quest.

"Hey, I'm sure they'll agree." Nashi told him, reassuringly squeezing his arm. Riot smiled at her faintly, trying not to show the effect she had on him with just a simple touch.

"Yeah, I hope they do. This could be a big step you know." He told her, rambling more to himself then her.

Riot looked over to the bar area where Rebel and Silver were now sitting and talking, looking like they were in their own special bubble, in a layer away from reality. He wondered how they weren't stressed out about it, then he realised that at that moment neither of them cared about anything except each other and the funny part was that they didn't even realise it.

Riot looked back to the door and his eyes widened at the sight of their parents walking in as a small yet loud group.

Rebel and Silver made their way back to the table and the four of them watched their parents walk to a spot at the opposite end of the hall.
Silver nudged him, "Now?" his best friend asked, failing to hide the nervousness in his voice.
Riot nodded and stood up, smirking when the rest followed in suit.
Straightening up, Riot started walking in the direction of their parents, doing his best to seem confident for the rest of his team.

Reaching the table he took a deep breath, "Hey guys." He greeted casually, smiling brightly and even adding a small wave. Riot heard his sister scoff and tried not to roll his eyes.
He was answered by several greetings, ranging from "hey there RiRi" to "Hi to the brat with the blue hair."

"Guys we have something we need to ask for.." Riot said, not wanting to waste any time. He felt his friends cringe before standing next him, clearly trying to provide some sort of moral support.

"And that is?" Natsu asked, eyeing the proximity of Riot and Nashi.
"Well....we....uuhhm...." Riot started, unsure of how to say it.
"We want to go on an S Class Quest." Rebel stated, her voice clear and determined.
Riot flinched but was glad that someone actually had the guts to say it, because he wasn't sure he could have.

"What did Future Daughter In Law just say?" Juvia asked, with wide eyes.
"That they want to go on a S Class Quest." Lucy responded, sounding stunned.
"Wait what?" Gray asked, looking at Gajeel for confirmation.
"Well looks like our brats finally grew some." Gajeel nodded, looking slightly impressed.
"Kids..." Levy pleaded in a soft tone.
"I say they go for it!" Natsu practically yelled.
All of the adults whipped their heads in his direction, "WHAT?!" they yelled in unison.

Riot watched with slight amusement as Natsu shrugged, "Their old enough and super strong, I'm sure they can manage."
Everyone, including Riot and his team, gawked.
Natsu shrugged again, "They're slayers that learnt slaying magic from other slayers! I'm almost positive that a group of forth gen slayers can go on a S Class quest!"
Gajeel and Grey nodded in agreement, "Between Dragon slayers and a Devil slayer, everything will be fine." Gray said reassuringly, holding Juvia's hand.

"Actually I got an idea.." Lucy said, smirking and looking at the kids.
Riot gulped, "Y-Yeah?"
"You four spar against Sting and Rogue and if you manage to win, you can go." Lucy said.

"WHAT? A spar against brother and Sting??" Rebel yelled
"You've got to be kidding me..." Nashi mumbles, clearly mortified at having to her fight her only sibling, Sting.

"Well kids, what do you think?" Levy asked, smirking with the rest of the adults.

Riot ran a hand through his hair and matched them with a smirk of his own, knowing the rest of his teammates were doing the same,
"Bring it."

Author's Note:
