I was sitting behind Race, watching him play poker against Spot. they both had looks that could kill on their faces.
"Before I win. how about we make this a little more interesting? If I win... I get a night with your goil." Spot said. I knew that shouldn't surprise me, but for some reason it did. I knew most girls would love to be in this position, but not me. A night with Spot, blech! Race wrapped a protective arm around my waist.
"No." it was as simple as that. but somehow I knew Spot wouldn't give up that easily.
"Sorry Paint, looks like your datin' a wus." Spot said.
"Fine, deal." The boys spit shook. I cant believe he did that! Does he know what will happen if he loses? I stormed out of the room and up to the roof. I was thinking to myself.
"Why did he do that? Did he let the pride get to his head? What will happen if he loses? Will I seriously have to spend a night with Spot? What if I get pregnant with Spot's kid? am I just something he can throw around with his gambling friends?" All of these questions kept rushing through my head.
About half an hour later, I heard footsteps coming toward me.
"Hey..." I could recognize that voice anywhere.
"Hello Race." I said making sure there was no emotion showing in my voice.
"Look, I know what I did was wrong but-" I cut him off.
"What you did was extremely wrong! I might have to sleep with Spot! And I might end up with his kid!" I saw Race tense up.
"I won. I beat Spot." He said. A rush of relief came over me, but I was still mad at him.
"Why did you do it in the first place?" I asked.
"Because I didn't want you to think you were datin' a wus." he said shamefully.
"Race look at me." I cupped his face in my hands. "You are anything but a wus. And besides, I would rather date a wus than sleep with Spot." He chuckled.
"I just don't want you to find someone better, and then leave me." he said.
"Anthony Higgins, there is no one in the world that I would rather be with." He smiled.
I stood up on my tiptoes and pecked him on his lips. he grabbed my waist and pulled me back for a longer kiss. It was the best feeling in the world. We both pulled away for air.
"I love you" I said smiling.
"I love you too."
