Isn't it weird how fast time flies? I couldn't believe I was already preparing for my final year of school.
"These will truthfully be the fastest years of your life" Mrs Beresford had said, sounding like a voiceover for a vacuum advert, while gazing down at all us year sevens in assembly.
Psh, talk about artificial motivation, I thought. How could something as dull as school ever go fast?
But here I am, the day before year thirteen starts, remembering my first day of year seven as if it were only yesterday.
Suddenly my phone lit up from across my bed.
It was of course Katie, my best friend since year seven. We had always been each other's shadow, wherever Katie is, chances are I will be too. We even had are own language, which no one else could understand. People have always said we were best friend goals, and to be completely honest I couldn't agree more.
'Oh my god omg omg omg'
Knowing Katie, a text full of omg's could either mean she's seen the most adorable animal in the world, or the fittest guy in the world.
I was just about to reply when another message came through, obviously whoever or whatever Katie saw was pretty damn important.
'Omg where are you, I need you, well I don't but I do, I have news, well not news but basically news, can I come ov-'
Incoming call, from Katie.
I laughed, swiping to accept the call, she was never patient enough when it came to so called important news.
