"How am I supposed to forget about Van with him here?" I asked Mac.
"Don't let him get in your way! Get out there and audition. Plus, he probably won't even take the roll if he was offered one. He's too wrapped up in baseball," Tess confirmed.
"Just go out there and try your best," Mac smiled.
I walked to my auditioning room, bumping into Wes on my way.
"Hey, just the girl I was looking for," he smiles.
"Hey, just the guy I was trying to avoid," I say, harshly.
"I just wanted to tell you that what Van did was really screwed up."
"Yeah, well, it was in the past. I don't really care anymore, so you can tell Van that I am not letting him destroy my spring semester," I lie.
"You do to care. I can tell. Plus, it's kind of hard to tell someone something when you break all contact with them," Wes laughs.
"What are you talking about?"
"I stopped talking to Wes after he played you on Homecoming night. That was so not cool."
"You really didn't have to do that."
"I know, but I didn't want to be friends with someone who would do that."
What made this time different from all the other times he's done it? Like with Hazel and Tess? I wonder, but I keep my thoughts to myself
"Well, thanks," I say, but am saved by the intercom calling my name. "Well, that's my cue. Good luck with your audition, I'll see you around."
"You too," he says as he waves.
Despite the fact that Wes annoyed the crap out of me, he technically didn't do anything wrong. Van was the one who hurt me, not Wes. Plus, I can't afford to be rude to him. After all, he is the son of Louis Hunt, my uncle's boss.
