For Emmalee ------ My soul flies with you

Columbus, Ohio

(Y/N)

I gripped my cup of hot chocolate tightly as I leaned my face over the steam in an attempt to warm my frozen fingers and ruby-red nose. I took a glance up and peeked out of the windows at the front of the shop, my eyes widening at the full blown blizzard that must have snuck up whilst I was getting my drink. A sigh escaped my lips as I sunk down in my seat. I just knew that I was going to be here for a while.

A small coffee shop in downtown Columbus was where I was spending my time alone 5 days before Christmas. Brioso Roastery and Coffee Bar, I think it was called. I was honestly surprised I had managed to find my way here without getting hopelessly lost. I was used to the familiar streets of (Y/HT), my hometown. I was just here visiting family for the holidays, whereas I would much rather be at home blasting music and fangirling over (your fave band besides tøp) tumblr posts. The cold weather here was also a displeasure of mine.

I wanted to text my friend, Bailey, but I knew she was probably working the late shift at the Hot Topic we worked at. Maybe I could listen to music while I waited out the storm for a little bit. I pulled my (unfortunately tangled) earbuds and my phone out of my coat pocket and pressed shuffle on my music app. The sweet sounds of Where I Left You by Man Overboard filled my ears and I hummed in content.

Walking on the grass and I've never seen this town
My head is feeling and heavy and it's pointed straight down.

I reminisced the last time I got to see the band. It was their last show in Philly before they went on hiatus, so Zac had flown me up there to see them. I still remember the look on his face when he first saw me walk into the room...

I was jolted out of my thoughts by a strong wind wrapping around my body, making me pull my jacket tighter around me.I looked up to see a tall, hoodie-clad man pushing through the door of the coffee shop, flurries from the blizzard twisting around his frame. What idiot would be out in this?

I turned my head back to my phone, which had begun to play Trapdoor by Twenty One Pilots, making me smile to myself. I took another sip of my hot cocoa before slumping back in my chair and clicking on my tumblr app. I sang along with Tyler as I giggled and reblogged adorable pictures of (your fave band member besides josh or tyler).

Everyone gather around for a show
Watch as this man disappears as we know
Do me a favor and try to ignore
As you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor.

"Hey, is this seat taken?" I jumped and almost dropped my phone at the sudden voice that manifested itself right in front of me. Once I regained my composure, I looked up and saw the hooded stranger that had walked into the coffee shop moments earlier. He still had his hood up and I could now see that he was wearing giant sunglasses that hid his face. A small silver nose ring glistened next to his toothy smile.
