For the beautiful Brielle/Brie Cheese/ Brie. I told you I'd write one, and I did.

He left the house a couple of minutes ago, and when the sound of his car faded away, I left, too. The only difference was that I was going out to be alone (in the physical sense, not the mental state like I have been). There was a park not too far from here where an old oak tree with enormous branches grew. That's where I wanted to be.

And that's where I found myself.

The highest branch, though probably the most dangerous, gave a perfect view of the stars and the entire park. The middle branches offered cover from rainstorms and had a view of the stars, as well, though more limited than that of the higher branch. The lowest branch provided cover from the nastiest weather, but heavily obstructed the view of the stars. You could find me on that middle branch tonight, because it had a little dip that fit me perfectly.

I felt the cool night breeze wash over me, sending chills up my spine and causing me to pull my hoodie tighter around myself. Maybe I should have bundled up more before I left. But then again, my actions this evening were more impulsive.

As I stared up at Orion, I felt a tear slide down my cheek. Of course, that single tear just started a chain reaction. Pretty soon, my cheeks and the sleeve of my hoodie were soaked with the salty liquid. I didn't even care anymore. This wasn't the first time I had cried this week.

It seems like forever had passed when I heard a voice call out below me, breaking the silence of the park. "(Y/N)? Are you up there?" I tried to remain quiet, hoping that maybe he would walk away. Unfortunately, he knew me too well for that.

"(Y/N), I can see you. I'm coming up." There was a rustling of leaves and the tree shook as he made his way up to sit next to me. He kept his distance, which I was extremely grateful for.

I studied him out of the corner of my eye. The moon gave me enough light to be able to make out the troubled and pained expression he wore as he watched the stars. The breeze ruffled his short, brown hair slightly, making me want to reach out and run my fingers through it like I always did.

No, I had to show restraint. He was the reason I was here in the first place, along with other things.

My eyes drifted back over to the stars as I silently replayed the events of today over and over in my head like a VHS tape. How could he do that to me when he knew how I felt? Especially today, of all days.

He broke the silence with a heavy sigh. "(Y/N)...I'm sorry." I turned my head slightly and saw he was now facing me. "I was an asshole for what I said. I told you that I'd never hurt you, and I failed. I'm not asking for forgiveness - God knows that I don't deserve it. I just want you to know that I would trade everything in the world just to take it back."

I felt the tears start to prick my eyes again and I held in a sniffle. Goddamn him. Of course I would forgive him. I always would because I love him too much to do otherwise. His head fell to his lap and my eyes drifted over to his hand resting on the branch. Slowly, I placed my hand on top of his, making his head shoot up. I gave him a weak smile and sniffled. "You know I'll always forgive you, Ryan."

Ryan's pink lips formed a frown as his hand went to cup my cheek. I felt the pad of his thumb wipe away a tear that had managed to break free. "I am so sorry, my love." With that, he leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on my lips before pulling back and staring into my (Y/E/C) eyes with his hazel ones.

I smiled and fell into his embrace, breathing in his scent and relishing in the feeling of his arms around me. The moment was short lived when Ryan suddenly pulled back and smiled at me. "I have something for you, (Y/N)." He reached into his pocket and bulled out a velvet box with a red box on top and placed it in my hand. Curious, I opened it and let out a gasp, my hand flying up to my mouth.

Inside the box on white silk rested a beautiful necklace. A small, diamond-shaped ruby attached to a shiny, silver chain glistened in the moonlight. I knew this had to have costed a fortune. I looked up at him with wide eyes.

"After I...left, I went over to my parents' house and explained what happened to them. My dad, uh, smacked me upside the head and yelled at me for being stupid. He said that you were to good to let go. He brought out this necklace and told me that its been passed down through my family for generations. My great-grandfather gave it to my great-grandmother on their wedding day, my grandpa gave it to my grandma on their wedding day, and my dad gave it to my mom when he proposed to her. My dad said that the Ross men give this necklace to the girls they plan on keeping forever. He said that now seemed like the perfect time to give it to you."

I stared at him in wonder. His face was red and he was biting his lip nervously, giving me the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. He planned on keeping me. He gave me a family heirloom! It was at this moment that I realized how deeply in love with this man I was.

I cupped his face with my hands and kissed him passionately, wanting to show him my new found discovery. I pulled back and placed my forehead on his, catching my breath and staring deep into his eyes. "I love you so much, George Ryan Ross III." He smiled at me and pecked my nose gently. "I love you, too, (Y/F/N)."

Ryan fastened the necklace around my neck and kissed my neck gently. I stretched my body out on the branch and rested my head in his lap, his hand stroking my hair and humming a quiet tune.

"Happy Birthday, babydoll."
